Gary Pinkel said earlier this week he doesn't think teams with a losing record should go to a bowl.

True but there is something like 50 fricking bowls nowadays....a win can end the season on a positive note and help set the tone for next season.

If I was a Mizzou fan I would be pissed

Throwing away weeks of valuable practice time is dumb as frick. Blame the bowl system for letting 5-7 teams in, dont blame teams for capitalizing on the system.

What a dumpster fire up there.

Tip my hat to Mizzou for declining. I love CFB but there are way to many bowls. They have become participation trophies.

When there aren't enough 6-6 or better teams to fill the bowl slots the 5-7 teams get ranked by APR. The top APR teams are first in line to fill the remaining bowl slots.

Since there are not enough 6-6 teams bowl bids are being sent out to the 5-7 teams with the best APR scores

Bet Kentucky would accept a bowl bid if they get one.

Crossing my fingers that Kentucky gets a bowl bid. We lost to vandy and almost eku, we need all the reps we can get.

Probably, but those are two very different situations.

Tennessee would have likely done the same during their bowl drought.

Not a fricking chance. The fans would have rioted.

Their APR is so bad, they're crossing their fingers that teams ahead of them will decline.

Probably depends. If it had been Dooley's last year they likely would have rioted, but I can see the reasoning if it is a coach you believe in going forward.

A bowl win can be great motivation heading in to the next season.
