You must have not been there for the trophy celebration. About 45% of the Dome was still filled 10 minutes after the game

Yes it will be a road game for Mizzou. I forget what our road record is this season but I thinks it's OK

Well, I'll be there for the second year. Looking forward to it. Had a great time last year even though we lost.

Keep in mind we took over New Orleans during the 2012 BCS National Championship game vs LSU. This game will be much worse.

It was 50/50 split prior to the game, but after the game all the LSU fans went uptown or bars that didn't allow gumps in.

IIRC....each school gets approx. 16,500 each. There are approx. 20,000 season tix of which about 80% are held by UA/AU folks since these season tix were originally marketed & sold when the SECCG was held in Birmingham the 1st few years after the '92 season. The other approx. 18-20,000 are controlled by the Atlanta Sports Council & Corporate sponsors....

Was just about to post this. Alabama fans hold most of the season tickets because our fans keep buying them every year and have first chance to buy them the next year. More reason we always have the most fans in the Dome.

If you are playing Alabama, Auburn, Georgia or Tennessee in the SEC Title game you are going to be outnumbered due to (a) proximity,(b) historical season ticket holders/corporate sponsors who are overwhelmingly familiar or fans/alums of these schools and (c) Overall makeup of Atlanta and the business structure in Atlanta in relation to these schools.

That is just the way it works.

And if any combination of these 4 are playing eachother in that game then prices go through the roof.

If the game were in STL or KC it would probably still be 50/50. maybe even a slight edge to bama.

no, just that the majority of Missouri sports fans could give a shite about the Tigers. Too many professional teams.

edit: I take that back. I bet most Missourians give enough of a shite to go to a game in STL or KC. But if it inconveniences them in any way (like driving hours to ATL), they wouldn't go. Whereas the Alabama fanbase is diehard and would go see their Tide regardless of how difficult it is to see them

If Mizzou really was on the geographic east side of the SEC this would be correct.

All I can say is that if Bama loses this "home" game to a ragtag group from Missourah, there's no way they should get into the playoffs.

Mizzou has got a missing generation of fans that didn't get into the Tigers whether they were alumni or sidewalkers due to the program sucking massive amounts of dick for a long time. Those fans are the ones that would have the time, desire, and ability to travel to games like this. Recent grads (last decade) will likely travel if they've got the chance, maybe even some sidewalkers, and definitely the die hard fans. The building of the hard core base will still take a while.

It's easy for Bama fans to travel and have a reputation for being as die hard as they are because their bad period was pretty short and they win a lot. People just don't travel to see their team lose, and that was the case for Mizzou for a good portion of the 80s and 90s.

Even the Nebraska sea of red is shrinking in size now that they're not dominating every game they play. It's just the way it works.

Yea, you realize we fill up everywhere we go, right? Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Happy Valley, College Station, etc etc.

Come on guys, you've been in the league 3 years now. You should know certain things by this point.

Agree that the history has a big part, but Alabama people kept traveling to crappy bowls and out of conference games in far off places (OU, UCLA, etc) even when we sucked in the early 2000s. It's just what folks do. We have earned a lot of our reputation stuff for having crazies, but on the flip side we also fill up our stadium when we are 6-6 for 4 of 5 years and have no end of the misery in sight.
