After seeing a couple of Mizzou fans be really adamant about him being fired, I'm curious as to what the fanbase on the Rant as a whole thinks.

Is it just a case of a down year after two East titles and you ride it out?

Maybe get rid of assistants?

Or is Pinkel himself too set in his ways for either of the above to happen and he needs to go?

sounds like you're starting to realize you don't know much about Mizzou football or the coaching, maybe stick with basketball, seems like your specialty.

Yep we're down so the East as a whole is up; order will be restored next year

So where does this answer fit in with what I asked again?

I'm honestly asking what your fans (not just you) think.

They're not going to do any better than him. The fortune has run out for them and they're taking their true place in the cellar of the SECE, just like A&M who never really had fortune other than JFF.

No. I'm sure there will be some who are ready to show him the door, but anyone who has been a Mizzzou fan since before he got there will have perspective enough to see how silly that is. The worst thing we could do is get rid of Pinkel in a down point in the program. He is the winningest coach in school history. He deserves a chance to bounce back. After this year his seat is warm. If we have back to back shite shows it will be hot.

Belle: "Hey Missouri fans, I don't know much about how you're feeling about Pinkel right now; can some folks respond and let me know?"

Jagd: "LOL, stick to basketball since you don't already know the answer to your question."

Pinkel is fine. He will retire within 5 years IMO anyway.

Needs to get rid of Henson (OC) and Ricker (Oline coach). Both are awful.

Everyone else is fine, for now.

yea, you've been pretty adamant telling us how great Pinkel is for the past year, telling us he's just awesome and we are SOOOOOO lucky he's at Mizzou. When I pointed out facts like he's the highest paid, longest tenured coach who has NEVER WON a trophy at his job, it's irrelevant for you. That's fine, I'm also pointing out the chink in your armor of Pinkel being bulletproof, even if you don't realize it.

Have him clean house on his offensive staff. It's pretty embarrassing not scoring a TD in THREE games. I don't care if Mauk has played or not.

Pinkel himself deserves more time, though.

Look, they are starting a Freshman QB. Why would they fire a top coach? It takes experience at the QB position in most cases to win in the SEC.

Two SECE titles in a row will get him all the time he needs to reload.

You're an insufferable abrasive douche. I wish you would jump ship and become a UMKC 'Roos fan and stop making Mizzou fans look bad.

AJ Ricker is our O-Line coach and he needs to go. We have five senior starters yet we are the worst O-line in the SEC and we are 122nd out of 127 teams in Division 1 FB in rushing yards because of it. Ricker has only 1 year of coaching experience as a O-line coach in D-1 ball and that was at Illinois...A school that hasn't done anything in the last decade in the big 10. We hired him because he is an Alum and a former player here who "knows" the program. He played for Pinkel in the early 2000's at Mizzou. This was when Pinkel first got hired at Mizzou. Basically GP shite the bed and hired this idiot not because of experience but because he played for him. This guy can't coach an O-line for shite.

Josh Henson our OC also had little to no experience as an OC when we PROMOTED him from O-line coach to OC. We can't do that promoting within crap anymore. We need to go out and hire an OC at another school who has proven they can run an offense and develop players.

To sum it all up GP screwed up bad with these staff choices. We got two guys who had little to no experience at their respective positions on our offensive coaching staff and it shows. GP is fine but he has to clean up his mess. We need a new OC and O-line coach at the end of the season period. No more of this "They know the program" bullshite. I do hate it when GP says "We do what we do" in every press conference after a loss. What we do is not score touchdowns apparently. Worst Missouri offense I have ever seen.

Missouri firing Pinkel would be suicide. While Pinkel isn't going to win anything at the national level, he at least wins some games. Before Pinkel they had losing season after losing season after losing season.

He's got some time. Guy is solid.

He's likely to never win us a conference championship, but Mizzou's overall record for the past decade or so speaks for itself, especially given his performance after the lost decades of Mizzou football.

This team would likely be in the discussion for another East title if the offense was even somewhat serviceable. It isn't and we're not. While that does reflect on Pinkel and possibly the tiny margin for error in Pinkel's recruiting strategy, it's a hiccup in the grand scheme of things.

Some heads need to roll, but anyone looking for Pinkel's head is either not a long term Mizzou fan (read: used to winning the majority of our games) or trolling. For some reason Mizzou fans like to troll each other.

I do think Pinkel is a great coach. I have no issue with saying that. He reminds me a lot of Rich Brooks in that he does less with more and the reality is unless you're someone like an Alabama you're going to have down years. And I understand the sentiment of someone plateauing and needing to go, I just don't know that's the case here.

He's won multiple division titles in two different P5 conferences with Mizzou. Who was the last coach before Pinkel to win a division title at Mizzou? Devine?

That all said, that's my opinion as an opposing fan. I'm asking what your fanbase as whole thinks. You're one of the ones who adamantly want him fired so I already know what you think, so it's not really needed outside of what you've posted at this point.
