Yeah... We pay our football coaches more money than you do... Always have... That's why Oxford is a more attractive destination for head coaches and assistants than Starkville.
And youre talking like they both stepped into similar situations... It's not like Mullen stepped into a loaded roster or anything but Croom left him something in the cupboard... Nutt and his staff burnt us to the god damn ground.
I must've forgotten that Mullen finished his first season off with a bowl win and winning record too... But my memory is probably just failing me.

Of OM and MSU, who had better talent last year?
Hard to say, Im sure you are going to try to base your opinion on the eggbowl, but neither team was at full strength. Also it was at Starkville which gave you a slight advantage.
The funny thing is they were pretty close however you want to make your claim. The difference is that was after 1 real year of Freeze recruiting and 5 real years of Mullen recruiting, I could be off by a year. MSU should have been head and shoulders better but the only real position battle that was heavily in your favor was your DL vs our OL, but that was with our FR AA LT out for most of the game.

I take massive enjoyment knowing that my sig makes you butt hurt.

Nutt's recruiting was good at pulling in talent, attrition is what hurt y'all. Acting like Nutt recruited a bunch of not rated players is retarded.

What exactly has Mullen achieved that Freeze hasn't?
A top 15 season.

The fact that Ole Miss went to a bowl both years kind of offsets that a bit.
Not really. We played 10 bowl teams in 09 -- a 14 win team, 13 win team, 11 win team, 2 10 win teams, 2 9 win teams, 2 8 win teams, and a 7 win team. With any semblance of a normal schedule, Mullen would have never missed a bowl game at MSU...

butthurt is a strong term but it does kind of annoy me... After we win in Oxford this year I may bring him back.

I never even insinuated that. I will say that most of the good players, by rating at least, are not still around. There have been some great guys left by Nutt though. Just wish he had recruited a few average to above average OL.

Nutt left you just as much as Croom left us. Or are you going to pretend that you've been carried by Freeze-recruited players these first 2 years?

5 of the listed teams were not SEC west teams. 3 were OOC -- including one BCS Bowl team.

That's why you are still paying the last staff. Not our fault that you are stupid with your money.

According to whom? This is just you talking out of your arse.
I'd love to show me where you've ever paid an assistant better than we are currently paying Geoff Collins. If you can...

Not even close... We had 7 OL the entire year... Our starting juco RT showed up on campus in the summer.

You know what day I'm ready for engie ? The day you start spinning MSU wins instead of MSU losses... Seriously... I'm ready for guys to win 10 games just to see how your posting style changes.

It's funny because Reggie says this stuff specifically to rile engie up and he goes for it every damn time.

You don't count so good. You had NINE returning lettermen and 2 rsFR on the OL before Burton and Bailey showed up on campus. But, by all means, 13 is pretty close to 7 in the same way you only had 55 scholarship players 2 years ago...

Lol @ people thinking Nutt recruited well. Outside of the 2011 class, all of his classes were absolute horseshite. Even the talent we signed that got kicked off wasn't as good as it was ranked. We probably had 7-8 big contributors from his '09 and '10 classes combined.
Excluding 2011, the best player Nutt signed was Masoli. 2nd best... uh, Vince Sanders?

Oxford is Oxford and Starkville is Starkville. That's why OM is a more appealing job. Not to mention the fact that OM has won something significant. It's easier to recruit to Oxford because of the town, women, better facilities, better food, better atmosphere, etc. Taking these things into account makes the job Mullen has done up to this point very impressive. Four straight bowl games is something to be proud of in Starkville!

LOL. Yeah -- we had so much trouble that we hired the national champion OC. You hired Arky St's coach after our boy in Lafayette told you thanks but no thanks.

So easy to dominate recruiting that you generally only get 50% of the players in the state and still can't manage to beat big bro, huh? How many years in a row now have you finished behind us in the west? #crootindomination
Don't look up this year -- because we're taking that from you as well.

What Mullen has done is the baseline of what we expect going forward -- with the potential for a special year this year -- but one that will ultimately define him either way and give us a pretty good idea about his ceiling. You won't find a single State fan that thinks he's greatly overachieved thusfar. He's basically been chalk. Done some things great and some things not so good. One thing I won't complain about is that he self-examines and fixes problems from year-to-year. It's not your mom and dad's Mississippi State anymore.
