He could not take it, because he was already working for the f.... aggies.

Because you beat Mississippi State by 2 points? How the mighty have fallen.
They were a delay of game away from losing this game... State drove the ball down the field the last 2 drives while the defense played prevent.
The EXACT thing that they said Chavis would do to us, but they are so hellbent on Steele being an amazing upgrade they wont look at it for what it is and just use the "we still won" approach to cover up the truth.
The truth is the defense gifted State the game late, and State missed the game winning FG. Not the narrative they want to see. They see a defense stopping State on a possible game winning drive which was not the case. A missed FG saved they from having to eat crow.

The only thing new here is the amount. We knew Les was talking with him down to the wire, we knew Chavis did all this while still on the clock at LSU, etc. This has all been reported.
Here is the part that interests me:
Les is the most easy-going guy in cfb. He doesn't fire even his worst assistants. He transitions them. He gets them jobs elsewhere, puts them to work in administrative positions, times it correctly, takes care of his guys. But Chavis's relationship had so soured with Joe Aleeva( who thought he was an egomaniac and not worth the fuss) that he had lawyers with him and went the whole Legal formality route that guys never go. He had a tantrum and he lawyer-ed up. He also broke his contract and was serving two masters. And he was too stupid and ego-driven not to leave a clear trail of evidence. He's going to lose in court because he has confused his ego with contract law.
This is a Chavis issue. Not an LSU issue. He's trying to defend terra infirma. 1000 times in the past LSU and coaches parted ways without acrimony. But Chavis went out with a drama queen flourish. That A&M didn't quickly settle and make this all go away is a sign of insane levels of HUBRIS.

Give me the stats on the number of 50+ yard FGs State's kicker has made in his career. I'll wait.
In the meantime, stop trying to paint a 53 yard FG as a gimme that was pushed just right.

Sorry you don't like facts
The same fanbase that spouted for a week that State would not beat them because they lost 16 starters (including 3 offensive lineman) are now using stat comparisons to last year to show improvement on the defense..
This is hilarious.

Like your ilk above, sorry you don't like facts.
LSU is better defensively, at this point in the season, than they were at the same point last season. This is a fact.

As opposed to last year when State actually beat LSU, and Chavis' defense allowed Dak to run for 105 yards.

Dak had 16 yards rushing in an entire game(the least he's ever had).
I don't think he had a single carry under 16 yards last year.

Surely them replacing 3 starters on the ofensive line had NOTHING to do with that, right?

His career long was 43 yards. Their good kicker didn't have the leg for anything over 40 yards apparently. The one they had kicking was under or around 50% on his career. But don't let facts get in the way of your narrative.

Look Chavis was a great DC, sure he had his problems (same problems he had at UT) but we don't know if steele will be an upgrade or not. I can say he is for sure an upgrade in recruiting and replacing brick with Coach O is huge.
but the argument should be is Steele + Coach O> or = Chavis + Brick
at this point nobody knows, but I really like what I saw in the first game and in recruiting.
We know chavis was a huge upgrade for A&M and he will do wonders there. and we all knew he left because of Alleva and the guaranteed money.
anybody that says different then this is flaming, this goes for both sides.
Aggies enjoy what you have, we are enjoying what we have. This is the same shite we went through with UT fans, its stupid.

This is an incredibly casuistic argument.
MSU returned 5 starters on offense. LSU returned nearly their entire defense.
Additionally, it's only one data point.

We know that Orgeron is a massive upgrade from Haley - both in recruiting and coaching. I'm not sure anyone would argue this.
We won't be able to make a fair comparison between Chavis and Steele until after the 2016 season.

Probably not as much as starting Beckwith over Welter.

You do know they used 2 different kickers, correct? The kid who missed the game winner is 19-34 in his career.
So, once again. You can stop acting like that was an automatic make. It was 50/50, at best.

Nearly, but Welter graduated.
