lol you're taking Chavis' lawyer at his word

This is text book deflection. This isn't a lawyer's word, this is sworn testimony. The fact that you have so quickly rationalized it because it hurts your narrative is fascinating. You have one of the strongest cases of woman brain I've ever seen. It's fascinating.

Grow thicker skin baw. Like dawg said above, coonass isn't derogatory. If you get upset about message board banter, tRant is not for you.

I've been here as a poster and a lurker longer than you were probably aware of TD.com's existence. I know the rub.
I'm not upset by the comment because it was stupid and baseless. I'm just making an observation about the verbiage a poster used.
Regardless of how you've heard it used, it has derogatory connotations and I've seen it used in a derogatory context in this thread as well as others.

Also, just because you have family who are Cajuns and who use it as a term of endearment amongst themselves doesn't mean it's ok for you to use it as a slur.

Go back and re-read my very first post in this thread. Nothing in the report contradicts what we've been saying all along.

Um. There have been plenty of y'all that have said LSU wasn't willing to pay what A&M did. No mention of a clause in the contract. Simple dollar figures. I'm sorry the facts get in the way of your narrative.

There are tons and tons of LSU fans on here, so I'm sure some of them did say that. That's not what knowledgeable posters have been saying though. The guarantee was always the biggest sticking point.

Yea coonass has never been an issue on this site as far as I know. Everyone I know who calls themselves a coonass does it with pride, but by definition it is a derogatory word.

Coonass is not a derogatory word but more slang than proper. I am married to one and have a whole family of in-law coonasses. If it was that bad they would not sell license plates, T-shirts, and other merchandise that say Registered Coonass on them...

Donald Trump proves that we don't have to be so damn sensitive and PC just because 0.001% think they should be...

Let's see more sacks than any sec game last year..... check

- rushing yards for the best qb in conference....check

A win on the road in sec west in an opener....check

#1 recruiting class....check

Narrative looks good to me.

It's surprising that y'all care so much about this in the 3rd week of the season.

Let it go aTm fans, you have Chavis, we have Steele. Football goes on.

How many knowledgeable posters knew about how LSU desperately wanted to keep him and came back with more money than A&M was willing to offer? Did you?

Yall offered him 1.8 million. He took 1.5 to go to A&M.

So the myth that was busted was that A&M outbid LSU for Chavis?

it's literally the only thing they think they have "gotten over" on LSU in the last 20 years. Facts be damned.

I havent seen it yet? Let State climb right back in the game. Which is what you always complained about Chavis doing is letting teams march the field late in the 4th... Looked like thats exactly what happened Saturday night.

Actually, we always complained about Chavis allowing them to march down the field playing prevent and losing the game. But wouldn't you know it? Last play we sent a blitz and were playing man coverage and had a huge play to leave them with a long field goal. They would have been kicking from the 10 in last years scheme.

We offered him more money several times, but never the guarantee he was looking for.

I started to formulate an actual reply, then noticed his handle:

As much as I hope we beat aTm by 50, I wouldn't mind seeing us down by 4 with about 1:30 left in the game. Then drive right down through the "prevent" defense and score the game winning TD. Then aTm fans would know what it feels like.

The desperation by LSU fans to diminish that it was even the slightest downgrade has been down right hilarious. You know that, right? It wasn't a win/win. You got your second option. Not one of you can come to terms with the fact that your defense isn't better off. I mean it's only natural. Every fan base would act the same. But to think y'all have been rational is laughable. It has been a constant off season of emotional outbursts and every coping mechanism in the book. At least one of you has to recognize that. The education in Baton Rouge isn't thaaaaat bad.

If Chavis had been the DC, we would have lost to State last week.

Oh and just to prove that you're a liar when you post things like "No mention of a clause in the contract. Simple dollar figures." Here's a post I made on the subject just 4 days ago:

quote:

I don't think anybody was really "happy" to see him gone per se, but the defense had not been what it had been in 2013 and 2014, while better statistically, didn't have the "it" factor, particularly along the defensive line and blew several games at the end. He wanted a 3 year guarantee and a big raise, but after an 8-5 season in 2014 and a 2013 team that most felt underperformed, nobody on the staff deserved a new contract like that and that includes the head coach.

The fact you keep saying this, with absolute certainty, after one game shows how ignorant you are.

Never change.
