Being a fan of a good football school makes you a superior person? Who'd a thunk it?

That's because you work so hard and have so much to do with Alabama being a good football school.

This one sentence about covers it.

This September, Saban called Meyer “the best” coach in football

No surprise given his NC playoff defeat to said coach months earlier

Meyer opined. Thanks Urbie for your $.02 on a subjective topic

BTW, how's the chest pains?

Might want to check your history books. Saban's never lost a national championship game.

Remind me again who was the coach of the UTAH team that manhandled Saban in the Sugar Bowl?

Kyle Whittingham. Utes finished 13-0 that year, #2 in the AP. So, dont know if you noticed, but they were pretty good that year.

thanks CrimsonTide, and I do know that UTAH was a damn good team that year but NOBODY thought they would manhandle Bama like they did that game. And anyone saying otherwise is a flat out lie.

Who did you think coached Utah that year? And what does that have to do with topic of the thread?

It so hard to say ever.

It's like golf, I honestly believe that Bobby Jones was the best ever to play, but many will disagree. But there is no way to compare him to Jack, Arnie, or Tiger.

The same can be said about coaching. Different era, different rules, different student athletes, social media, everything is different. There are advantages and disadvantages.

But today he is clearly the best currently coaching!

I wasn't @ the Bryant days. But IMO the last 20 years are so he is the best HC. That I've seen coach.

Saban's greatness comes from recruiting and attention to detail like no other. Game planning is outstanding. In game coaching and adjustments are good, but not great.

Best in the business right now, and maybe best all time.

that is so ignorant. If anything, Urban held Tebow back. BTW, Mullen is the one most responsible for Tebow and that offense at UF.

Where in that quote did Meyer say that Saban wasn't the best? What he said was that he didn't want to say. He did confirm that Saban was most definitely either #1 or #2, and possibly #3.

Your title claims that Meyer made the statement that Saban isn't the best. Your comprehension skills are lacking.

Saban is a better recruiter

I would rather have Meyer on gameday

Anybody can win at Alabama with the player pool they recruiit from. Meyer would be a better coach at bammer because he would recruit a good qb.
