Bama's vaunted secondary last year?

They were vaunted because
1. Dee Milliner
2. Nick Saban is a respected defensive backs coach.
3. The standard that 2009 and 2011 set.
4. Quality of competition.

Tennessee had more success through the air versus Georgia and Florida, and that's about it. Georgia's secondary gave up big plays, but so did Alabama's last season. It's hard to call which one was better, but it's a fact that Florida had the best secondary and overall defense last season.

Florida has a far better pash rush than we do. Mett has been sacked by far inferior defenses this season. Florida's pash rush will get to him often
this is what I'm thinking, he will be on his butt a lot this game. Just hope we are able to overcome, but I'm not betting on it. If we had ANY defense at all I'd feel better, but...

Theres some intelligent Bama fans on this board and they know. UF was the best defense in the SEC last year...we lost to UGA courtesy of SIX turnovers....don't count on that happening...we got it out of our system this year against the slimeballs down south.

I'm not sure bragging about a game where he lost is the best way to go with this...

Despite the 6 offensive turnovers, Florida's pass defense forced 3 Aaron Murray turnovers and kept Florida in the game for nearly 60 minutes. Florida also held Murray to 150 yards passing, and 45 of those came on a late touchdown pass where Purifoy didn't make the tackle. Needless to say, Florida shut Georgia down last season. Contrast that to Alabama. Alabama's defense gave up 21 points and nearly 400 yards total yards. Alabama's defense almost gave the game away in the end, but time expired.

Murphy has elevated Florida's offense to where it isn't a three ring circus like it was with Driskel. It's not high octane, but you have to honor Murphy's abilities and Florida is always going to have speed and athleticism on both sides of the ball. Florida is much more dangerous now than they were 4 weeks ago. It's going to be interesting to see.

300 yards passing on that vaunted Bama D. And that was LAST year. Yeah, yeah... We blew that one, but point is you can have the best DB's in the nation and still have a very tough time stopping an O executing at a very high level. Seen it happen numerous times....1/9 comes to mind

Mett lost... The #1 defense won.
