Arkansas is about 1 mile across the Mississippi River from Autozone Park. There are many Hog fans in the Memphis Metro.
Yet, they still aren't the biggest alumni group in Memphis.

Nothing quite like bringing the tournament close to a team with zero tournament titles and a .423 clip of winning tournament games.

Regarding a possible move, CPM was quoted in today's paper as saying "in the past, when it's come time to renew/not renew the contract at Hoover, the league office has polled the coaches. This year they have not. It seems a move is gaining traction". As for Memphis, how does the park match up, distance wise, the RL & LF lines & distance to CF to Hoover's distances?

Wish Louisville would bid for it at some point. Slugger Field (Reds AAA) would be perfect, right on the river, and downtown with tons to do.

Apparently, the tournament exclusively caters to RVs so the decision appears to be made on a venue's ability to accommodate them. Does Slugger Field have a place for them? That would be a great venue.

FedEX SEC baseball Tournament should seal the deal for Memphis.

They could maybe work it into the Waterfront parking just across the road. Or using Humana's lots. I'm sure they'd figure it out logistically. And it's far enough past Derby that there wouldn't be an issue there.
But that would make too much damn sense.

Did you really mention the Treasure Chest Casino as an attraction? That place is a cesspool.
How is a Casino with a buffet restaurant and shuttles from the parking lot a "cesspool" exactly.
Nothing stopping someone from going to Harrah's or the Quarter also.
LMAO at New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Co on Vets as a place to tell an out of towner to go to eat.
Not on Vets, on South Clearview in Elmwood. And that was not the ONLY place I listed. It does serve creole dishes, not JUST hamburgers..
All of the hotels in Metairie suck other than by I-10 and Causeway.
Really? ALLLLL of them? So you've personally stayed at allllll of the Metairie hotels?
Ramada Airport
Wyndham airport
Lakefront Marriott
Sheraton Galleria
Were you raped by the Incredible Hulk in a Metairie Hotel by any chance ????????
Jesus....

Their a certainly a bunch of Hog fans in Memphis, no denying that, but when I lived there, it seemed to me, that UT and Ole Miss, were the biggest SEC fanbases.
LSU had a good size base there as well, due to Republic closing their crewbase at MSY, causing many people to move to Memphis.
As I have said, I personally prefer Metairie, due to location, but feel Memphis is the best place, due to the proximity of AR and the MS schools. Not sure if BR is closer to Hoover or Memphis.

hat other stuff might make some sense. Louisville, Ky., doesn't.
The home of the Louisville Slugger, who also makes a ton of collegiate equipment, in a SEC state doesn't?
If Kentucky Basketball fans haven't seen an SEC tournament in state in years and can regular travel as far St. Pete, FL then some diehard baseballs fans can travel to Louisville. And they accommodate the NCAA tournament quite often so the other accommodations are there.

Birmingham was once pretty much the geographic center before expansion. I don't know exactly where it is now but I would imagine somewhere north and west of Birmingham. It will remain in Hoover or move to Memphis. I would say Nashville is close enough to have a shot. Anything outside that circle I just don't think will be considered. Louisville is about as far north as any campus in the conference. A week long baseball tournament is a bit of a different animal that any of the other championships. Just my opinion....

Louisville?
really? Could you get any further from every school?
And on top of that it's an ACC town.
Memphis has a ton of hotels downtown within walking distance to the stadium, no telling how many restaurants and many other attractions close to downtown.

1. I go to the SEC Baseball TY every year and have for over 12 years.
2. Get the event OUT of Hoover. Been there too long.
3. My first choice is Memphis. Better park than Hoover and much more interesting area to be in. I could stay in a decent hotel and walk to the games.
4. I am tired of most SEC events being held in the eastern half of the SEC's geographic area. We added Missouri and Texas to our SEC geography and Birmingham ain't the center anymore. Needless to say ATL is even worse geographically.

I would vote Memphis. Autozone Park is a fantastic facility located right in the heart of downtown right by Beale Steet, the Peabody, etc. plent of good restaurants and watering holes within a two -three minute walk. Autozone gives you the feel of a big league park. Pulled Pork nachos

Rum Boogie Cafe

Average distance to New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, and Hoover from all SEC towns:
Hoover - 355
Memphis - 377
Nashville - 325
New Orleans - 489
Regions Park - Birmingham
Autozone Park - Memphis
First Tennessee Park
Hoover Met
If I had a vote, it would be Memphis no doubt

Lived in Memphis for the last 20years. AR is no where near the 2nd biggest fanbase in Memphis.
I would guess UT is first, Ole Miss 2nd and probably Miss State or Bama 3rd.
