This. I think whatever the NCAA "recommends" on Wednesday is what A&M does.

If they play him when the NCAA recommends that they don't, then it also becomes an institutional issue and not just a player issue. LOIC can set a program back for years.

But does aTm even have to consider the recommendation?

The question I have is if A&M can't get him off does he get pissed and transfer to Texas next season? He's already said he hates A&M and he doesn't always make the most mature decisions. I hope they sit him and he shows his arse, will be fun to watch.

You might want to change the headline. When I put this in two threads earlier today before you started an entire thread on it, I made sure that I put "according to a source" which you should have in the headline.
The NCAA has not stated this, it's a source with A&M.

Prediction:
JFF causes the rant to crash again, A&M/Bama '12 style, after the NCAA announcement. Millions of jimmies will be rustled. This will officially make him the most popular player in SEC history, no one player has crashed the rant twice.

as long as manziel lies there's nothing the ncaa can do to him.
good luck to them finding a paper trail.
These types of posts always crack me up. The NCAA has penalized dozens of schools without hard evidence. They aren't a court of law and aren't bound to due process. They're not above handing down rulings based on testimony alone (even testimony from someone that wants you to go down). During Alabama's Logan Young mess, they never found a dollar that went to pay Means' coach, but all it took was another coach pissed because he didn't get anything and a secret witness who hated Alabama (Fulmer) and we were toast. I'm not denying it happened, but there was no hard evidence, just testimony (testimony that doesn't require oath or risk of perjury).

NCAA has been pretty weak ever since the Penn State deal though.
NCAA fricked themselves with the PSU deal. They greatly overstepped their bounds and they know it. If PSU really wanted a prolonged fight that stretched several years, they could definitely sue the NCAA under anti-trust violations and potentially win tripple damages.
PSU just wants to get it behind them, but I think the NCAA is treading more cautiously after they went out on very thin ice with the PSU penalties.
Then they just botched the Miami investigation by being overzealous.

I was being serious
Seems to me that the NCAA is just dropping their two cents, and it's really up to aTm to decide what to do. Now, maybe it's not the best idea to go against the NCAA, since they're a bunch of ninny babies anyway. But even if they say he needs to sit, y'all could play him if y'all wanted, right?

Nothing is gonna happen. Manziel will play. I dont want any bull shite "Colt McCoy" type excuses when we play A&M this year in College Station.

As much as I hated him when he was in college, Colt McCoy could have beaten Bama that year by himself.

Ppl may not like the NCAA but they are the governing body of cfb...they control who plays and who doesnt.
I am sure the NCAA will allow a school to just spit in thier face and do nothing.

The down side is that if they recommend he sits and he does not then they could hit them harder in the end?* #amiwrong?
Posted on 8/27/13 at 8:51 am to ChemE in the OP
i doubt they say anything other than play him
but if they do recommend sitting him the Ags would be absolute morons to play him anyway.
