My guesses for Metro Atlanta, IMO (after UGA):

Cobb: Auburn, GT, UA

Fayette: GT, Auburn

Coweta: Auburn (AU is probably closest to UGA in Newnan), GT

Atlanta/Fulton: GT, AU/UA (modest AU edge - UA rise in Buckhead is noticeable and growing), UF, SCAR

Anyone with estimates on Cherokee, Forsyth, Gwinnett?

There were a lot of bama fans in augusta this time last year. And then i started seeing a lot of auburn car flags after the iron bowl. And then those flags have now switched to Florida state. This town is bandwagonU.

I'm starting to see more script "As" in Nola than LSU flags..it's an epidemic.

Alabama is becoming more upscale and forcing the necks into less developed parts of the country.

How appropriate is it that Alabama's script A has a mullet?

Interesting to see so many label Birmingham a UA town. I've lived here over 10 years and it seems pretty evenly split to me. Maybe a slight edge to UA, but not by much. Just my impression.

I don't think so. the Greater NOLA area has the largest concentration of LSU Alumni and fans than anywhere in the world, including Baton Rouge.

The script As you see are either Braves fans, Alcorn State fans, or Bandwagon Gumps Alcoholics from Mobile and Fairhope who have Skoal drool coming out of their toothless mouths, who are in town to visit 'The French Quarters'.

Jacksonville: Florida - correct
Orlando: ? Florida
Tampa: Florida State (would be my guess) - Florida
Miami: whoever's winning - Florida (have you seen their stadium during a game - oh wait, they don't have a stadium)
Miami is Miami but they don't really care

In the Carrollton area, I see a new Bama flag every day it seems. Maybe not the rest of the city.. but where I live, it's a growing fad.

And I definitely know the difference between the Bama "A" and the Braves "A."

It is surprising how many New Orleanians go to Bama. DKE fraternity is almost all Mobile & New Orleans dudes.

Ehh, its just the "thing to do" right now. The kids want to get out of state and do something different than LSU, the Greek scene at Alabama is rivaled by few, their football team is highly successful right now and such. It's cyclical. It used to be that Ole Miss was the big school (and it still is), but Alabama may now have passed Ole Miss in the New Orleans.

I've heard UA's Chinese department is second to none. That's a huge draw to those interested in scholarly pursuits.

South Carolina:

Columbia - obviously South Carolina
Upstate South Carolina (Greenville, Spartanburg) -mainly Clemson with a smudge of Georgia fans
Charleston - predominately South Carolina fans with a few small pockets of Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, North Carolina and Virginia (not including some smaller schools like The Citadel, Wake Forest, Wofford, Furman, Davidson).

Columbia, obviously SCAR, agreed. But there are nice sized groups of UGA, Auburn, UT and Bama fans here as well. I was surprised at the number of local A&M fans that have shown-up over the course of the past two seasons for some of our games. I'll bet we've had over 100 come through our Cockaboose in that time frame.

I think you've got to break the Upstate out differently. Yeah, Greenville is mostly taterheads, but there are 10s of 1000s of Gamecock fans up there that spill over into Spartanburg and Gaffney. Then you've got Rock Hill which is dominated by Gamecock fans.

Charleston you have to classify as Lowcountry and the Lowcountry is owned by the Gamecocks from Little River to Fripp Island and everything in-between.

Then you've got Florence, Darlington, Dillon ... all owned by the Gamecocks.

Edgefield is mostly Clemson because of the agriculture, Aiken and North Augusta are mostly Gamecocks.

O-Burg is taterhead and I've never understood why.

I always thought Rock Hill had a big UNC fanbase?

Yea,I'd have to say "Metro Birmingham" would be 60-65% Alabama. But the OTM suburbs into North Shelby (280 and 31/65) would be split.

Jackson Metro was pretty much shared between State and OM back in the 80's and 90's with Bama, LSU and USM making up the rest.

I used to visit relatives in Memphis when I was growing up and Memphis seemed to be a mix of UT, OM, Memphis, State and Arkansas fans. Keep in mind Arky had a great basketball program then with a lot of Memphis area players.
