Lane isn't going to sacrifice everything he's restored and rebuilt under Saban. His stock is pretty high and as long as he's Bama's OC he'll land a decent HC job. Why would he gamble with his career for LSU?

LSU is better at not getting their man during coaching searches.

LSU's the new feel good college football story, loads of talent just needs an off. coord , and Kiifin feels loved and respected by coach O. You actually believe Kiffin feels respected by Saban?

It is such a silent commit he will be coaching them in secret while pretending at Tuscaloosa.

Ultimate smoke screen next season.

Lane will not take a head coaching job at a mid major. No power 5 team will take him after Tenn and USCw. He and coach O are friends. At LSU he will be able to speak to the press and show that he has matured to become a HC. It is very difficult to be a coordinator under Saban.

Not sure if that's enough reasons. Those are just the ones that have been said repeatedly about him coming to LSU since Coach O took over.

It's not about Saban, it's about his own personal progress. It's not a good business decision.

Why would he come to LSU? For one to prove he can beat the top program in the country Bama consistently, that will look great on ones resume. Maybe it's Lane's way of ensuring the Bama job will be his when Saban retires. Lots of moving parts in this, but I can certainly see the reasoning behind the move.

Lane has as much chance of being Bama's next coach as I do. No, he's all he'll ever be at Bama and I can tell you that as a fact.
And I see no reasoning behind a move like that. If he stays at Bama, he at least has a job. If LSU stumbles, he could be out of a job and that is not far fetched to happen. Bama doesn't pay him much and isn't going to so if yall want to throw a couple mill at him
Go right ahead.

Lane finally has his career on an upward path. That would be career suicide to gamble in such a dysfunctional situation.

Yeah. You've been talking about that since you've been on this board (I read the board a good long time before I registered), but it hasn't yet happened.

You LSU fans should just stop hoping for Kiffin and settle for Rush Propst.

I just don't see it. Only way I see Lane going to LSU for OC is if there is some kind of Head Coach in waiting. If CEO fails. But I just don't see it. He will get another HC job eventually.

This board has just become devoid of all common sense. This isn't third grade recess.

A lateral career move to downgrade in program? It would have to be significant pay increase which still does not help him if he wants to be a head coach.

It's not hard to put up 500 yards when the other team keeps going 3 and out. With an average Auburn offense, Bama doesn't get to 300 yards yesterday.

LSU fans are fricking idiots if they think Kiffin is leaving Alabama for anything less than a head coaching job. fricking idiots, with dog shite for brains.
