Our AD doesn't negotiate with coaches. It's not like that's his job or anything.

I dont know how any LSU fan could be upset that they wouldnt pay Herman 6mil. I would have laughed in his face. What I dont understand is why they didnt go after others with a better resume than Herman such as Craig Bohl

But everyone at LSU say they are a top 5 job that great coaches will line up and walk across broken glass to have a chance to coach.

So there were only 3 coaches who even checked on this top 5 coaching job in America.

If only 3 show it ain't top 5.
Middle of SEC West, maybe.

Damn thats a little harsh, but maybe they deserve it after Price/Shula.

Theres only around 7 school's that the school itself has a factor in recruiting and LSU is one of the 7.

I appreciate that gumps really care about LSU's coaching search. I am so sure you want us to get the best possible coach.

Should have named Aranda the hc.

After today, he practically is.

One thing I'll say, Orgeron certainly doesn't seem to have an ego about all this. He appears to be glad to glorify his assistants if the team wins.

You think we want every sec school to be like mizzou? That would get old quick. This aint the big 12. Do I want LSU to have Saban? Hell no. But we do want some competition. And I think Orgeron can do that probaly as good as jimbo or herman.

Really, you can't understand why Western Michigan's coach wasn't picked?

Yeah, hiring an up and coming coach from the midwest would never work at LSU.

outside of Herman there were not a whole lot of great choices.

bullshite. There are probably in excess of 75 current head coaches in DI alone that would have entertained them.

If Orgeron will ever do well as a college head coach he will do it at LSU.

I think in their minds Fisher and Herman were the only 2 they were willing to take over coach O. This is of course just an opinion but that's what it looked like. You have to think with coach O they could keep the coaches they liked on the staff and upgrade with a very good offensive coordinator. Again trying to guess what their thought process was.

I can agree with this, just dont understand the love affair that everyone seems to have with Herman. I will say this, I dont know who LSU could have hired that loves Lsu like I feel coach O does.

As much as people post on here and supposedly follow college football there seems to be a whole lot that don't understand what drives the programs. Recruiting, recruiting and more recruiting. Ed did well enough on the field to get the job because he can recruit against the coaches in the SEC. This class is top 5 in some rankings if wait until after bowl season that slowly starts to drop. None of those other coaches can hold a candle to Ed and this staff when it comes to recruiting. None of them could go up against Nick Saban or even Hugh Freeze when it comes to recruiting. It will work out in the long run. LSU will be back now that Miles is gone. Ed knows this offense has held us back he knows his job depends on changing that.
