No, it started when Chavis recruited for aTm while still under contract with LSU. And then lied about it.

The man lacks integrity.

Would have thought LSU would have paid what they owe him and maybe send him a note of thanks and a gold watch for all he did for the football team.

Alleva made that statement before Chavis went out recruiting, but after Chavis put it his 30 days notice.

But the argument that Chavis started it is kind of a poor one. It was started when Alleva publicly stated that he would hold Chavis to the buyout. It's not some coincidence that LSU filed their suit the same day. They probably had it ready or close to ready to file and Chavis' lawyers just beat them to the punch.

The logic is blinding.

And for the people mad he was recruiting for us in January - he was on vacation. You don't have your vacations micromanaged.

I'm mad he was talking with Sumlin the day of the Music City Bowl. Very unprofessional on both of them.

But defend it anyway you wish.

Frankly, I'm surprised. Chavis was instrumental in giving LSU its best football season - 2011. I would have expected more gratitude from LSU.

Frankly, I'm surprised that A&M hasn't paid it for Chavis. They are asking him to come in and be a savior in a non-optimal situation. They were willing to lure him from a division opponent to do so. And, they basically forced Chavis to break his contract with LSU (and thus owe the buyout) .

It's very petty that A&M hasn't just paid the bill for Chavis.

People who bought tickets to the game should sue his arse for intentional infliction of mental distress and malfeasance.

Weird that it's always aggy fans who post this stuff

It's like we're in an abusive relationship and aggy can't help but come back for more after getting that arse whipped.

If he did something on vacation that his boss didn't like his boss should have fired him. People get fired for crap put on social media all the time.

LSU is going to make A&M pay as much as possible. Long drawn out process racking up attorney fees to be paid by Chavis (i.e. A&M) whenever LSU prevails in the suit. Probably north of a million overall costs including the damages for breach. Sure A&M can pay it, but it's essentially "stick it to 'em" move.

He took another job on his vacation...and therefore owes his buyout.

LOL at A&M fans bitching about LSU enforcing their contract when a coach deceitfully left them high and dry in a horrible timeframe to find a replacement.

The funny thing is, A&M fans always brag about their money but they are too cheap to just pay Chavis' buy out. Chavis fricked himself and it's hilarious that his new team doesn't want to pay for him.
