The same reason Bama creates recruiting materials of checks of former players and send to recruits. Signed by Nick Saban.
Anymore questions?

They don't care. It's a strawman argument used to refute a current collegiate players success.

LSU fans, why do you care more about what former players do in the NFL
We don't although we do want our former players to do well in the NFL.
On a side note, isn't it Alabama that has created posters about players that Saban has coached who have gone to the NFL as recruiting tools? It would seem that they place a value on this as well.

Because we like to see anything associated with LSU do well????

It depends on the context of when NFL is being used.
If we're talking about Derrick Henry winning the heisman, and someone says...yeah he's good in college, but _________ player will be better in the NFL. That's just someone trying to deflect and or minimize his current success. It's a bullshite argument that has no merit on what he's currently doing/achieved.
If, however, the subject is actually about nfl players, or if you as a coach are trying to show a recruit that you can take their raw talent and develop it...well, the NFL would be a good measuring stick for that.
It's really all about the context of what you're discussing. Trying to take the subject of one context and insert it into the other, is bullshite.

On the flip side of this equation is the attitude of Bama fans about their former players. Bama fans could care less what happens to their former players and are only concerned with winning championships
Such bull shite. Bama fans being concerned with winning championships does not mean they don't care about former players. You must be high.
I live next door to the biggest BAMA Fan and poster on this site. He acknowledges the fact that a majority of BAMA fans don't care about BAMA players when they leave. One major reason is because the State of Alabama doesn't have an NFL team. Only time he supports former Tide players is in Super Bowl...

I live next door to the biggest LSU and poster on this site. He acknowledges the FACT that a majority of LSU fans care more about ex players success in the NFL than at LSU is because they underachieve to such a sad and pathetic extent and most are really just fantasy football fans. And because the Saints are in Louisiana.

For the same reason that Bama fans incessantly talked about "The Baaarrr" while I was in college before Saban came. It was a distraction for how bad we sucked in the present. Bama fans don't obsess over Julio Jones or Amari Cooper because our team is about to play in the playoffs for the 2nd year in a row. If we were facing another meh season we would care a lot more about our NFL talent.
