Nah, coach O worked with Jimmy Johnson and Pete Carroll. He failed once as a coach and learned from it. Even got to run USC for awhile.

I truly hope so. I would be okay with maintaining 10 wins a year and then maybe making a run ever 3-4 years.

Good call. Keep calling it out. A majority of our fans are fricking idiots and their only defense against what you're saying is "go support Bama" or "you're not a real fan". Most of them can't put forth a single, valid fricking sentence to defend the hire. You'll get a shite load of down votes from the Cajuns and soccer moms, but the fans who have actually played football know this is a fricking disaster.

I am not Arkansas AD Jeff Long's biggest fan, at all...but when we had our last coaching search, you could not keep track of Long. He was flying here, he was flying there, he was gathering candidates and gauging interest. He also had a complete season for the hiring process, such as Alleva.
I don't know. I was pretty disappointed in the hire LSU made. I remember LSU in the 90's and hope you guys don't get to what the program was then. It only takes one bad hire to set a program back a while.
It was absolutely a lazy hire. After he got bitched out and cucked by Texas, he ran back to Baton Rouge like a little fricking girl and picked the first coach he could find, just so he could go hide in his fricking office.

not that i care honestly, but its why i chimed in. the man has been the coach for all of 5-6 days? and yet he's predicting doom and gloom already, so that if it does happen, he can say i was right about the hire.
again, i'm far from pleased with the hire, but let him get his O coordinator, his qb, his system in place, his recruits. and he either does better than the trend miles was heading down, or he sucks. either way, making a prediction now on the secr or TR is not going to change the outcome.

OP,so you are showing your ignorance bout LSU & Coach O on several sites. What an arse. LSU & Coach O has lost zero recruits as NSD is 2 mths away. And you by no means represent the mindset of LSU fans.

I am very concerned and completely disgusted with Joe Alleva. His lack of effort in the search for a head coach was laughable at best

Orgeron has a great track record of recruiting, and every new coach loses commitments given to the old coach. It is just part of the deal. Go back and take a look at Les Miles' 2005 class for an example, if you want one.
Orgeron had a knack for finding "diamonds in the rough" at Ole Miss. In his first two years, he signed guys like Peria Jerry, Mike Wallace, Jerelle Powe, Michael Oher, Dexter McCluster, and Greg Hardy. All studs, most underrated.
