LSU cannot go down 14-0 and expect to come back. The game has to stay within 1 score, maybe 10 points in order to have a legit chance. The offense isn't playing a cupcake or Wisconsin this week.

LSU beats ole piss if...
we have to kneel the ball with 5+ to go.

LSU will need at least 1 pick six, fumble six, or special teams TD.

The stats you're using to discredit LSU's pass D can be used to discredit OM's run D.

Buncha idiots in here this week.

I feel that Ole Miss might be overrated. They are rightfully favored but I like our chances to pull an upset or at least keep it close.
They match up well with us in terms of the strength of their defense but we match up well with them defensively as well.

Could you be more specific? I'd like to know what matchups you think those are.
The strengths of our team at the moment are ST play, Defense has been much better and our power running game. We have also been very good at protecting the football. Right now, no one will beat OM without having those three phases playing lights out in addition to no TO's. Their D is just too good. The only team that has played OM that has similar traits to LSU is Bama (except I think we have better ST play and Bama obviously have a better passing game)...and Bama almost pulled it off. If we can have some success running the ball it keeps our D rested and helps kill the clock. I'm not saying all of these things happen on Sat for us...but, I do think we have a team that is capable of pulling this off more than other teams...for those reason's alone.

This is really what it all comes down to. LSU absolutely cannot afford to play from too far behind. 3-7 points is about as much as we can withstand. If we're constantly down 14 that will turn into 21-28 in a hurry.

no they don't. They have to play a good game. Ole Miss will have to play a good game as well. Seems like somebody is buying that Ole Miss media hype.....they played one good team this year, and won at home, barely. They also gave up 150 yards to the only other power team they face this year. There is a reason why an undefeated top 5 team (at this point of the year) is only favored by 3 points over a team that wasn't even ranked last week.
If you think LSU MUST play a perfect game to keep it within a touchdown....I advise you to go to the bank, do whatever you need to do, and lay down a large wager on ole miss. Lsu won't play a perfect game with all those freshmen.

Ole Miss is undefeated against the spread... So who is overrating Ole Miss?

I predicted that Miss. St. would beat Auburn by 3 TDs and people on this board laughed at me.
I was off by a TD.
I have no idea what the final outcome of this game will be. The ball could bounce a lot of different ways. Like the LSU-Auburn game, a few mistakes by LSU could turn into an avalanche. Auburn is not 34 points better than LSU. But, the same could happen with Ole Miss, who has never been intimidated in Tiger Stadium.
But, it could go the other way, too. I think that the coaching staff will pull all the stops out for both the Ole Miss and Alabama games and this LSU team will be prepared and focused. I could see a 20-17 game going into the 4th quarter and it all depending on who executes the best at the end of the game. IF LSU can get the running game going, they can put points on the board. LSU's defense is getting better every week. I think that it will be close going into the 4th and one team will pull away. Odds are that it will be Ole Miss, but anything can happen at that point.

Uhh, what?
Weren't y'all 0-13 on third down in that game?
Auburn dominated y'all on October 4th, racking up almost 600 yards (298 of those on the ground).

they have a good d for sure....but really, Memphis, Vandy, Boise, Tenn? Alabama has ability on offense, but they have also shown they are bad at times on offense (at Arkansas).
Alabama ran on Ole Miss some....I have no reason to think LSU won't. LSU has a better secondary than Alabama...and the D-line is getting much better with experience, and Hunter is coming out...as is adams and kwon......this will be a hell of a defensive game and I love the home field here......it is going to be loud.....the current generation of ole miss fans have never had a real tiger stadium experience as the last couple of decades, the lsu crowd has been subdued due to it being Ole Miss.....

You probably think that Alabama is 59 points better than A&M too.
I am saying that things happen in a game to start an avalanche.
Auburn is better than LSU. I am not trying to take anything away from them. But, as a team, they are not 5 TDs better than LSU.
Do you know how football works?

I'm saying Alabama is probably 40 points better than A&M.
If you're not aware, A&M has been taken to the woodshed in three consecutive games. They're pretty bad and Alabama is good.

Pressure is gonna be on the defense because I fear there will be a lot of early 3 and outs by the LSU O. If we can move the ball early on the ground Ole Miss will lose.

Meh, we started a true freshman QB vs Auburn for his first career start on the road.
The great thing about being in the SEC West is that you have ample opportunity to see who you are on the field. We still have games vs. Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas and TAMU. If we find a way to split our next 2 (beat OM) I think we will have our answer.

Good point but you only use the stats that help you make your point.
