Glenn as the Sunday pitcher has been a bit uneven. Our bats have bailed him out some.

you also top the conference in booting balls which is why I asked that question.

can you give me an answer now and stop deflecting.

It's hard to give up earned runs when your fielders can't catch the ball.

Fant was off last Sunday, but had a 1.26 era before that game. Not sure what it is now. He had picked up big outings @SCar and against State. He was great against Ole Miss as well.

Will be interesting I it comes to the Sunday game.

That's a stupid argument on your part.

Do you understand the term error? Those guys are out if the play is made, yet you argue our pitchers numbers are inflated because of that? Come on guy....

Of course you are, and that prediction is expected.

Friday night is huge...Astin has been money so far and getting a W for us on Friday puts the ball in Staneks hand Saturday.

I agree re: Friday, but that's typical for any SEC weekend series. The only folks who don't throw their true ace on Friday's are Kentucky-and back when Boughknight pitched for them over a decade ago-South Carolina every now and then...and LSU & Arkansas this year.

Because Stanek & Eades are the aces of these two staffs, even if they aren't taking the bump Friday.

Nola has been absolutely nails for us this year on Friday Nights as well. He's pitched masterfully while facing adversity in Starkville and completely shackled Kentucky at home last Friday night. In between, he did a number on Auburn & Mizzo, with the Mizzo win coming on the road as well.

This is his 2nd year as a weekend starter in the SEC and he's flourished. I see it being a dogfight Friday, but I think you guys remind me a lot of LSU last year. Great pitching but simply can't score enough to compete against a team that can match pitching up against you.

On Saturday, Stanek is a beast, but I wouldn't trade him for Eades in any way, shape, or form. Eades is coming off a just-shy-of-a-stripper's-nip-complete-game-4-hit-shutout of a Top 10 team. He is as dialed in as he could possibly be.

If there's anyone in this conference that can match up pitching against you, its us. When you throw in a superior offense and vastly superior defense, I honestly do give the edge to LSU.

I say we can take 2 of 3. With McCune added to the lineup to give our bullpen yet another arm we can depend on for quality innings in relief on the weekends, we're loaded for bear.

Gonna be a great one.

I kind of am trolling, but its definitely not out of the realm of possibility for LSU to sweep this weekend. We are playing our best baseball and if we play like we have since SEC started, I think the odds are in our favor. Your hitters wont touch Nola or Eades so as long as our hitters hit, as they have been doing a very good job at all season, I think we will both those games no problem. Sunday is the question. IDK how arkys sunday guy is but ours is questionable. If we dont have to go deep in the bullpen fri and sat then I think we will have a good chance to come out sunday with a W.

Logic and Odds tells me 2/3

but 3/3 would be awesome and could definitely happen

Sorry, but "no problem" for either team is t happening.

Our Sunday guy is good, as is our Saturday and Friday pitchers. Our bullpen is deep and talented.

It will be a great series.

I agree. You're likely thinking Arkie takes 2 and I think LSU takes 2. Will be a tough series and I'm looking forward to being there.

Best wants to face best so we have LSU's hitters and Arkansas' weekend pitchers ready for the test. LSU's pitching staff is holding up their part and our defense is best in the league. This is why I give LSU the edge in the series.

But even with Arkansas' poor fielding %, I don't expect them to be giving away anything. If they do, I believe LSU will take advantage and we could end up with some crooked number innings in the runs column. Putting the ball in play will be critical.

Expecting? Possibly. Predicting? No. I don't believe there will be a sweep but these bats are hot. Considering Arkansas is horrendous on defense and LSU puts the ball in play a ton, that could really spell disaster. You have to have more than great pitching and average batting to win. LSU is tops in hitting and fielding with a solid 1,2 punch and an outstanding closer.

Under the scoring rules in college, aren't there errors in a given inning which make any subsequent run unearned, for instance booting a ball with two outs. I can't remember the scoring rules since its been awhile, but if I am right, it isn't an argument devoid of merit in that instance.

A dropped foul ball followed by a home run by the same batter is a situation where the pitcher gets an ERA benefit for giving up a home run.

Also:

So anyone expecting a sweep after two straight series where a team swept is ignorant or trolling? I don't think anyone will sweep, but sweeping is certainly possible.
