Baseball is humbling. One hot pitcher, and the run is over. Good chance a 30 wins in that stretch, and just dropping 2 would still be great....

Have to agree. LSU's batting is superhot right now, due a cooling off at some point, hopefully we will be through that before postseason play.

OP is sounding a lot like the Arkie and MissState fans at the beginning of the season. We will likely win 2 to 3 @ Missouri but it would be an optimistic stretch to think we will sweep both Missouri and Kentucky, and all midweek games.

I don't think UCA has played Arky. MSU has though.

OP is pretty stupid. . . I could see LSU dropping one this weekend on the road (even if MIZZOU is lousy) and I would be extremely happy with 2/3 against a solid UK team.

Also, below is quotes from a story by Randy Rosetta, NOLA.com

quote:

In 2015, the Tigers' pre-SEC weekend lineup is highlighted by a trip to Houston right before the conference season begins. LSU will play three games in three days at Minute Maid Field. Notre Dame is also in the tournament, which generally includes one or more Big 12 Conference teams from Texas and either Rice or Houston.

Here's the story, also includes our OOC schedule the next two seasons.

LSU very seldom leaves Alex Box for OOC, but the reason is very simple. . . CA$H MONEY!

Why leave the box when teams from the north and usually solid in state schools are lining up to play here? Our strength of schedule is always solid because we play the best in the SEC.

not leaving the state in the OOC.

Ah, that tired old shite again. So it's not a road game for Florida to play at Miami or Florida State, Ole Miss at MSU and vice versa, etc. Got it. Of course, then it's not a home game if we play in-state teams in Alex Box, right?

quote:

Arkansas and Vandy went and played road series' against Top 15 teams, few teams actually do that it seems but it helps the sport.

LSU played a road series at then top-15 Mississippi State and didn't get swept.

quote:

Baseball needs to start scheduling marquee series' like the other 2 sports do if it wants to grow and branch out further.

Yep. The most successful and most profitable college baseball program in the country needs you to tell it how to "grow and branch out further".

quote:

LSU playing a series at like Arizona or UCLA or somewhere like that would draw as many fans for that series as they'd see all year and help get people more into the sport IMO. When teams like LSU, South Carolina, Arizona, North Carolina, etc, Top 10 teams, don't leave their state in the OOC it just hurts the game.

Why is it our responsibility to help them? It's up to them to get their own people to their games.

The only reason the piglets are on this leaving-the-state bullshite is that there aren't many schools in R-Kansas for them to play so they HAVE to go out of state for OOC games. Now they pretend it's an act of courage or altruism or something.

quote:

Hopefully your AD doesn't make the same mistake in basketball scheduling again because it seems like he likes to schedule like a pussy and it hurts the conference.

Do you think the AD makes the baseball and basketball schedules?

quote:

Bragging about 23-2 with who you've played is funny regardless, kind of like an MSU fan bragging about 7-0 or whatever it was last year in football.

LSU schedule rank: #38
Arkie schedule rank: #104

If you think 23-2 against the #38 schedule is funny, then 18-7 against the #104 schedule has got to have your sides splitting, amirite?

Might as well make it 35-2 as one poster suggested.

I just hope we win the first two games. Glenn is coming a long, but I am nervous at the idea of him playing in a rubber game, on the road, in front of 10k.

I can live with losing the series considering the rest of our schedule, but it's vital we avoid a sweep. Might as well give Vanderbilt the trophy in that case.

Starting to remind me of how it felt in 08 when we won like 26 streight on the way to Omaha. Hope we didn't get hot too soon.
