Jesus.. frick these threads. They always backfire. LSU probably loses all these games now.

Well.. they won't but they'll probably sweep Missouri, take 2/3 from Kentucky, and win the midweek games to get to 31-3 (10-2).

I think he's just saying your schedule is laughable up to this point for not leaving the state in the OOC. Hopefully your AD doesn't make the same mistake in basketball scheduling again because it seems like he likes to schedule like a pussy and it hurts the conference. Bragging about 23-2 with who you've played is funny regardless, kind of like an MSU fan bragging about 7-0 or whatever it was last year in football. Arkansas and Vandy went and played road series' against Top 15 teams, few teams actually do that it seems but it helps the sport. Imagine football if every major team just played 4 cupcakes or basketball with no tip off tournaments/maui etc to start the season and a bunch of Delta State type games. Baseball needs to start scheduling marquee series' like the other 2 sports do if it wants to grow and branch out further. LSU playing a series at like Arizona or UCLA or somewhere like that would draw as many fans for that series as they'd see all year and help get people more into the sport IMO. When teams like LSU, South Carolina, Arizona, North Carolina, etc, Top 10 teams, don't leave their state in the OOC it just hurts the game.

I want to be optimistic but winning every series is unlikely. Winning 2 of 3 every weekend in the SEC is huge and I'd be happy with that from here on.

Funny it was just a couple of years ago we had Cal State Fullerton at the box and in the last 10 years we have had road trips out to Long beach, Houston twice,Stetson, UCF.

But even if we didn't why does it matter as long as we are in
the SEC and play the gauntlet that all teams in the most
powerful conference face every year? I mean, I know in the
2009 season that was a big regret of mine was that Paul
Mainieri was such a lil girl and everything he refused to travel out of state for occ and was too scared to play any teams besides villanova and illinois. Oh wait nm we won the CWS
and beat your arse all over the place. Yea so much for your lecture on how LSU should do things.

Bro if you think LSU is going to go on major road series every year you are dumb. Newsflash jack....baseball actually makes money at LSU. As another poster said we have travelled over the last few years. If it's not enough for you.....tough break don't let it rustle your jimmies too bad.

The fact of the matter is Polk showed everybody you could win at baseball in the SEC....Skip showed everyone you could win and make money doing it.

So in essence you are right.....I'd say MSU and LSU made SEC baseball what it is today.

I dont think any rational fan would argue that LSU helped promote the popularity of college baseball but you have to admit that his statement of "LSU is the only reason the game is even half of what it is today" is a little over the top.

Personally I do not condone fans of successful programs beating their chests, unless provoked of course.

LSU is not the only reason but when you ask anyone over 25 who doesn't live in the South about college baseball I bet 90% of them would mention LSU.

LSU is to college baseball what Notre Dame, USC, and Bama are to football and Duke, UNC and Kentucky are to college basketball.

It's way over the top. Just like saying LSU is going 32-2. And people saying games at ULL and at Tulane aren't road games. Basically this whole thread is trash.

I imagine those are pretty rowdy crowds. That is their superbowl games for the year.

They also make it hard for LSU fans to get tickets. At ULL season ticket holders got first crack, then anyone who has contributed to the ragin Cajun athletic foundation, then general pop. There weren't really any left. Tulane upped their price to $30.

We crushed both teams souls early though so the crowds never got into it. Think combined. scores were like 25-3.
