If you guys think Crab-leg Winston is "developed" i feel sorry for you. Theres a difference between talented and developed.
He made him the #1 pick in the draft. You think guys just show up at QB as freshmen ready to be #1 picks in the draft? That is insanity.

Would LSU folks have concerns about Jimbo being another Miles
No. Miles has been here 10+ years, and the fans are seriously lacking confidence in him now.

I just can't quite figure out what I think about Jimbo.
He's a better football mind than Miles. Miles can recruit, but he's left some holes. I really can't believe we're having this conversation. Look at the LSU team on the field the past couple of games. Heck, the past 5 or so years. I really believe if LSU loses to OM, especially gets blown out, Miles is done.... I'd say he's lost the team.

but is he an ELITE coach?
Is he Saban? No. Is he better than Miles? I believe so, and that's all I ask for at this point. He took over a FSU program that was floundering and won a NC. I don't think LSU players will look as lost and out of place and special teams break down, etc.

the only sure fire guys like that are Meyer and Saban.
So let's just keep Miles around another 10 years. Okay.

Is LSU wants to get someone to develop QBs they should hire Richt after UGA fires him. Good, clean, stand up guy who knows the conference and can recruit.

Go get him guys! Hes the man.

Your hate for everything Florida State is showing.

No, we'll keep Miles around another 20 years to satisfy all other SEC fans. I'm sure you'd love that.

One other thing to consider about Fisher: you'd have to think Saban will be done within the next 5 or so years, having someone like Jimbo in place would have us in a pretty good position to take the spot of top program in the division back.
I support Miles and I say if it doesn't look to be extremely likely we can bring Jimbo in, keep him around. I wouldn't let Miles go to compete with everyone else over the unproven AAC coaches.

Im just saying change for a better coach, not just for change. But hey, you guys are right. Go get Jimbo.

Pretty much everyone in this thread knows you can't look at this objectively

What makes you think Alabama wouldnt make a better higher than Jimbo Fisher after Saban retires?
Posted on 11/19/15 at 4:18 pm to SummerOfGeorge
What's frustrating is that Saban, Patterson, Bielema, and Stoops all have somewhat similar offensive philosophies to Miles, and all have adjusted to the times while maintaining a power run game (minus Patterson).
If he fired Peveto, Cameron, and maybe Tony Ball for big hires, plus relinquishing his micromanaging of the offense, then I'm all for Les staying. The problem is that 11 years in we're the poster child of inept qb play and squandering skill position players that are all over the NFL.
I think Jimbo would overall be an upgrade to Les, but he's the only guy I think LSU could get away with letting Les go without looking like idiots.
Honestly I would prefer my second paragraph coming to fruition, then maybe get Fisher after he's been at FSU a good 8-10 years. It would justify Jimbo wanting a change of scenery too.

I said we'd be in pretty good position, not that we absolutely would
ETA: especially if he were here for 2-3 years prior to that happening

My question would be, is he that much of an improvement over Miles and would it be worth the pain and suffering that firing a guy with Miles' resume would cause?
How well would LSU have done this year in the ACC?????
I would take Jim Mora from UCLA instead of Jimbo.....Even John Harbaough....

I like that Jimbo has southeastern ties to high schools, otherwise I'd probably agree with you. And his track record with QBs.

Eh, there's a big gap between Saban and Miles. That gap isn't as wide between Saban and Jimbo. I'd like to think Bamas next hire isn't gonna be tGOAT, again. I hope not at least. Y'all already have 2.

Go read my first response to this thread of you want to see how most LSU fans feel about it. Jimbo is a better coach than Miles too. That's not really debatable. Miles never was a hot shot coordinator either TBH. He was only OC for like 2 years IIRC.
