I just thought it was funny how supposedly the Seahawks broke the record by hitting 135.5 dbs, yet yesterday everytime they showed the meter all they could hit was 108.

In one of their biggest games ever.

It really didn't seem very loud against Auburn. I kept hearing the hype leading up to that game, and it was not very bad at all.

1 Seattle Seahawks -- Probably true (stadium design)
2 LSU Tigers -- Not even top 10
3 Kansas City Chiefs -- Don't have enough information
4 New Orleans Saints -- worse than LSU
5 Indianapolis Colts -- Don't have enough information
6 Oregon Ducks -- No. Stadium design helps.
7 Texas A&M Aggies -- Probably about right.

NFC champ game vs. Vikings in the superdome the year Saints won the Superbowl...you cannot possibly make a stadium louder without blaring artificial sound. Seattle is the only thing louder. The design along with the pumped in noise are the only reasons why.

It's because they said "OK, now everyone yell as loud as possible until you break the record"

It would be virtually impossible to sustain that over the course of a game. When they did it in the dome they waited until the Saints were up on Carolina by like 20 pts. people had already started leaving and their interest in the game had already started waning.

I'd argue 2006 against the Falcons, reopening after Katrina was extremely loud.

In all honesty LSU can be very loud but has sucked recently

Same is pretty much true for A&M. Not nearly as consistent in producing noise.

We'll definitely get loud, though.

That being said, AU and UF belong on the list.

I guess in fairness to everyone you have to qualify and say "Loudest at the loudest point possible during a season". Too many factors can affect/effect (which one is it? I never get it right.) crowd noise, i.e. game significance, weather, opponent, score, etc.

In which case Seattle, Saints, LSU, A&M, Auburn, Florida, Oregon, Washington, etc could all make a claim for a high ranking.

LSU fan here. LSU should be included to say *Night Game against Top 10 opponent. Other than that, it's become a spoiled crowd
Correct. It's hard to yell with Wine and Cheese in your mouth. AD has priced out many and they have been replaced with "Corporate" fans that get free tickets from their employers. For the most part, they could care less about LSU football. They're in the stadium because it's something to do on a Saturday afternoon or night. They bail early and often. Gotta beat the traffic. Too hot. Too cold. Too wet. Too humid. Gotta get back to the tailgate, etc......

LSU against solid competition is top 10 in the country no doubt.

Its a shame we have to play day games against Citadel, Temple, and Mississippi State every year.

Meh, "ranking" loud stadiums is stupid, IMO.
