Honestly wondering where you would put the two in your own top 25?

I think both are appropriately ranked for preseason polls, which are worthless. I'm more concerned with where they are picked to finish within the conference, and overall projected record respectively.

Ah, true.

Equally as worthless, though.

So if I were to say 8-4 would be a GREAT year for A&M, you'd say?

A great year this year means a win over LSU.

I agree, I'm referring to general public opinion/ESPN/tRant/etc.

I'm not saying y'all are a .500 team and we're winning the west or anything, I just think y'all lose several (3ish) games and most projections including your fans and fans of all teams not miz/uga being 12-0, 11-1.

Houston went 5-7 in 2010 with their 3rd string QB

South Carolina run game vs. A&M front seven

Nothing else really matters but this. If aTm can't slow the run, they aren't winning the game.

Honestly, I think that's a good goal, so long as you don't lose every other conference game or something.

LSU should be worn out at the end of the year and I expect they'll be a little demoralized by not being in the top 3 in the west, so A&M with a season of games under their young talent might have enough.

tiderider Looking for a true objective analysis (A&M at South Carolina) agree with drac ... too many key players gone from both squads to even begin to predict the outcome ... just want a good, solid sec game by the 2 little sisters to get the big boys ready for saturday ...

Those little sisters have done well lately vs. the Tide.

1. Top
2. Run the ball and control the clock
3. Carolina turns the ball over a lot, and the aggie d resembles the 2012 team and not last years squad.
4. Usc 35 Aggies 21

I believe the middle of the aggie d is going to suck again this year, and think it will take a few games for the offense to really gel.

1. Keys to the game/Key matchups- How does Skylar Allen Hill do in his first game in the SEC with the Sandstorm all over his face

2. How South Carolina can/will win- Run the ball with Davis directly up the gut of the porous A+M Defense

3. How A&M can/will win- Throw the Ball deep and pray

4. Result and margin prediction- USCe win with a nail bitter 42-24

USC by 3 scores. Tough to beat them at home with Spurrier in command. New quarterback in his first game (and it is on the road) so I expect mistakes. I think A&M should be a much better offensive team by season's end however. I'll wait and see on the defense though.

Here's mine.

1. Keys to the game/key matchups

A&M receivers and QB vs. South Carolina secondary

South Carolina run game vs. A&M front seven

Both teams have key injuries in their weakest areas (A&M's starting SAM is out with a broken clavicle, South Carolina is a MASH unit in the secondary).

2. How South Carolina can win: Simply put, control the game on the ground. If Dylan Thompson is forced to pass to win, he won't have Connor Shaw to bail them out (see the game at Missouri as exhibit A). A&M is going to get their points. If it's a shootout, the gamecocks may not have the firepower to keep up.

3. How A&M can win: Simply put, show significant improvement in the front seven. If Myles Garrett and Zaycovan Henderson are as good as advertised, it will take significant pressure off of the secondary, who was the only bright spot in last year's defense. A Kevin Sumlin offense will get their points. Get enough stops and the offense will do its part.

4. I don't think A&M is good enough to win this game yet...but it will be a lot closer than people think. I'll pick 35-31 South Carolina.

Your analysis was excellent.
