How can you try and negotiate a potential counter-offer with your current employer while simultaneously not informing your current employer you are on the verge of leaving?

Correct me if I’m wrong - and I could be - but wouldn’t Calipari asking for his current employer to counter an offer from another school mean that he informed his current employer of those ongoing negotiations?

Latest on Calipari: He still, as of this moment, has not had any contact with UK AD Mitch Barnhart, sources say. Seems he's waiting on approval on his Arkansas contract (any hour now) before finalizing the divorce with Kentucky. The expectation is that will happen later today.

Im still wondering why yesterday they were reviewing his contract to fire him after he left when the buyout wouldnt apply
