We beat the premier college football team in the state of Georgia last night or at the least the one that has the most national titles.

They were manhandled by an 8-win team for 90% of the game... embarrassing my be too strong a word, but it was not a good showing. I'd be pretty down today if I'm a Vol.

Just strange to equate their win with an epic awful loss or a loss to a Sun Belt team. They beat a middle of the pack/above average ACC team at a neutral site. They are a middle of the pack/above average SEC team.
They shouldn't be celebrating in the streets but this wasn't surviving a game against Tennessee Tech or Troy.

Georgia Tech averaged 6.2 YPC
Last season they averaged :
6.3 YPC vs Vanderbilt
7.3 YPC vs Duke
6.3 YPC vs North Carolina
6.4 YPC vs Virginia
5.5 YPC on the season
So, it wasn't a great performance by Tennessee's rush defense, but the total yardage was also indicative of the fact that Tennessee either went 3 and out or scored quickly and Tech ran almost 100 plays.
Last season they averaged :

I'd actually rather do it game 1 than game 12. You have a lot more time to prepare. It's not something you see from other teams to help with preparation.

UT gave up 585 rushing yards, LSU gave up -5.... You tell me which one is more impressive.

i would say swap florida and tennessee and it would more correct. tennessee at least won their game and was able to score on offense.

Eh, you see some pretty poor performances from Top 25 Teams. Even 5 through 10 finishers. And if you are Ohio State, you can suck and finish in the top 3.
Marshall was on last night. He's going to give a lot of people fits. Tennessee did not look nearly as offensively offensive as Florida did. UTenn is about where they should be.
UF, I have no idea how they are sniffing the Top 25.

Their Oline played well, their RB is really good, Callaway is really good, and literally everything else about their team is average at best.
Even if you don't lose, giving up 585 rushing yards to a team that runs like 5 plays is embarrassing.

They looked confused the entire game. Anytime something went there way, it seemed like it just fell in their lap.

Yea - I'd get it if Tennessee were ranked #8 and escaped like this against a 8-win type Tech team. But they are ranked #25. This is about what you'd expect out of a borderline Top 25 team against another borderline Top 25 team.
