You're recanting stories from 24 years ago about Tiger Stadium in a thread about Kyle Field's noise?
BTW, I've been to all 13 SEC Stadiums LSU has played in within the last 5 years. Kyle Field is not in the top 6 in terms of noise.

I am super excited for the baseball season. It is too bad our team will be lacking this year.

Is this based on a single experience being yesterday's 11 AM kick off?

Somebody on another thread mentioned the 20-25 mph wind gusts. Physics nerds will tell you that wind dampens sound dramatically.

And are your experiences in BR based off of a very small sample?

I have had season tickets to both A&M and LSU in recent years (LSU family) so I feel like I am a pretty good judge. Both venues are amazing.
The architecture of Kyle obviously loses noise, however the noise on the field is much higher than you can tell from the upper decks or the south end of the stadium. Enclosing it would obviously help, but the field noise is still incredibly loud. The LSU players seemed to be struggling from my vantage point which is right behind them in 142. The renovation/rebuild will address that I assume.
As for maximum noise levels, Death Valley can definitely get louder by virtue of its design along with a generally drunker crowd. I see more people willing to scream with zero inhibitions at LSU which adds a lot of noise. However, I also see a lot of people who don't know when to be loud versus being quiet. A&M fans are more organized in how to generate noise (I am not referencing yells which are not done during plays) and when to make it. Also, Kyle is more consistently loud than Death Valley through the course of a game.
Both bases have a lot to be proud of regarding the energy of their venue. They are different but both are intimidating and fun. Both have great bands that add to the atmosphere.

Exactly why Johnny Interception had to ask your home crowd to STFU before going three and out and missing a FG.

I literally have no idea what you are talking about. It wasn't ever loud when we were on offense.

Following the long kick return he had to ask the crowd to be quiet when he was at the LOS up until he had to snap the ball.

11 am game. Let's not be disingenuous here. And even for 11 am, it was pretty damn loud.
Next.
Next.

He was asking the refs to reset the play clock, you dumbass.

It wasn't loud. Even for an 11am game.

By hushing the crowd?
You aren't thinking about the right series either.

He wasn't hushing the crowd. The play clock hadn't reset and Manziel was motioning to the refs. Did you think they randomly stopped the game for no reason?
It's ok to admit you were wrong.

That was a carry over from the long run not intentionally being loud. Then there was the sound of sadness after we were unable to convert a great return into points.
Anyone else here had season tickets to both for the last decade? I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
Edit: I took the Tiger's word for it. Post above me is correct about the play clock issue.

He did hush the crowd as he was running from the sideline to the huddle. The play clock problem happened later

I watched him hush the crowd which is a completely different motion than one asking for a reset of the play clock.

If you sat in the 500s or 300s, you were probably unimpressed. Same goes for 100, 102, and 147-149. The lack of noise at those locations is a product of the stadium's design.
This will be addressed in 2014.
I sat in 105 (that's first deck west side 30 yard line). I've been to many Aggie games--including 2010 NU, the game during which Herbstreit argued there's no better venue than Kyle when TAMU's team is relevant.
Yesterday's game was loud--particularly for the early start. As loud as a 6 pm kickoff? Not by a long shot.

Well, they did shut up quickly when told to do so.

I guess I'm learning that Aggie logic quickly...
