I've heard a lot of Aggies say that they have one of the loudest venues in college football. I've even heard a lot say that it's no doubt louder than Death Valley.

I was at the game Saturday. Now, I wasn't going to judge the loudness of Kyle Field based on an 11am kickoff game, but I saw a lot of Aggies posting on facebook and twitter that it was the loudest they can remember Kyle Field being in a long time.

Yes, the stadium was decently loud. However, it was more of a dull roar compared to the higher-pitched, head-rattling sound you'd experience in Death Valley.

Just wanted to see if any Aggies on here think this was one of their louder games and if they still believe Kyle Field is louder than Tiger Stadium.

Aggie fans, promise me that if you still think this is true, you'll come visit Baton Rouge next year.

Nowhere near as loud as it could be. 11 am starts really damper crowd noise. Nebraska 2 years ago had my ears ringing for 3 days.

I've been there before and that place does not hold sound well at all with the way it is constructed.

This is the main problem. I'm sure if the way the stadium was designed made sense, it would be closer to our volume, but the layout makes zero sense. There are gaping holes for the sound to escape everywhere.

Sounded pretty tame on the radio and tv.

It was insanely loud when I went there. Very impressive. I haven't been to Tiger Stadium yet though.

Yeah during a big 3rd down play when the fans were getting rowdy I could still talk to my friend sitting next to me without yelling or anything.... I dont think it had anything on Tiger Stadium at all

This is what i figured. The stadium is wide open. No way for the sound to bounce.

That's why I said I wasn't going to make a judgement of the volume of Kyle Field from this game. However, like I also said, a lot of Aggie fans were talking about how loud it was and how it was up there as one of the loudest in recent history.

The 11 AM kickoff definitely hurts the noise. It was loud, but it has been significantly louder when kickoff is 6 or 7 PM. The Nebraska game in 2010 also comes to mind, and it was damn loud.

I've never been to a game in Death Valley, so it's impossible for me to compare the two. But I definitely want to try to make the trip to Baton Rouge next year to see for myself

Their fans get into it and scream like crazy but they are at the mercy of a goofy designed stadium that just does not hold in sound.

family and friends were there. they said it was loud for a 11am game but nowhere near a normal night game, let alone a big night game(aka nebraska/oklahoma a few years ago). Those fans are either crazy or went to morning games in the past like against Missouri

Sounds like Aggie fans' train of thought.

It is nowhere near what those delusional crazies make it out to be. Most of them have never left Aggieland, or at least they 100% act that way. Last year I went to their Texas night game and then to our game in BR the next day @1:30. Death Valley was louder by a country mile.

Kyle Field is one of the best stadiums in the conference.

ETA: Johnny Football plays there.

I can't wait until expansion, just think how much louder it could be. Double the bats, double the shite, double the Aggies, and double the beatdowns.

If you are in the way-up-high seats in the Zone or third decks, it's not really that loud.

Our 2014-2015 stadium construction will likely include an enclosed stadium, so then we'll be able to compare apples to apples.

I posted the proposed expansion above, no enclosing sorry.
