well over 50k students and growing on campus. We are an excellent academic school

Do you see the problem with this? No? Well, I'll help you...

A&M is slowly devaluing their diplomas by becoming a diploma mill. I'm not sure what your administration is doing. In order to have that many students, you have to accept that many students, which means lowering standards.

A&M is now accepting at a higher rate than the academic juggernaut known as Texas Tech University. The same school who's graduates you Aggies like to call Tech Tards.

Acceptance Rates
Texas Tech 66.3%
Texas A&M 69.5%

Because Aggies have little bro syndrome and have to make everything about size, they are willing to diminish the value of their diploma so they can have more students than them dern tsips. Whoop!

Your entire argument is about size. Size of our stadium. Size of our student body. Size of coaching contracts. Size of average salary after graduation. Size of financial backing. Size of prestige of people we play against, but can't beat. Lil bro much?

It's much more simple than that. A&M is in College Station and hasn't won anything. No amount of swag will change that.

While I agree that A&M's current academic direction is concerning, the comparison of acceptance rates to Tech are misleading. If you want compare the two, take a look at the credentials of each schools accepted students. There is still a big difference between A&M and Tech.

A&M's rapid growth has more to do with the rapid population growth in the state of Texas. the reality is that Tech, Houston, and UNT need to step their games up and provide better educations to help meet demand, because right now there are way more high quality applicants graduating from Texas high schools than UT and A&M accommodate.
