Texas is the best job and it's probably not close. They have basically endless resources there.
I disagree. Yes, they can afford to pay more than anyone else, but there's a lot of bullshite that goes along with the Texas job. The coach is expected to stroke the Big Cigars and put up with the LHN. If the coach doesn't stroke Joe Jamaill and Red McCombs the right way, he's not going to last long. Strong will end up taking a pay cut to get the hell out of there.

Tennessee is a better job than Auburn and aTm

Except this wasn't a troll response. This was an actual response to spurn discussion among fellow fans.
That's how this works when idiots aren't trolling.

Texas is overrated.
top 10 but not top 3.
Texas high school football is overrated.
Politics and arrogant boosters getting in your way

Feel like Ohio State should be #1. In terms of success, they've been very consistent. They have a huge alumni base and many with deep pockets, great stadium, great facilities, they play in probably the best rivalry game in CFB, Columbus is a fun city, and the state of Ohio isn't really lacking in producing some quality recruits on an annual basis.
You could make the argument for USC to be #1 too. Great NFL pedigree, one of the most historic stadiums in the country in the Coliseum, great recruiting in California, you're in L.A....
There's plenty to list for each programs.
I'd put Texas in the top 5, but not #1. Despite living in Austin, you have to deal with the LHN, and that is a bitch.

Dumb list imo. Immature to equate highest paid, most recognized schools, or most successful football teams as the best job.
I'd rather skate at a job with realistic expectations, solid salary, and lower stress.

No it wasn't a troll response. It was a response to the mean ole Bama fans who doubted the greatness of the L5U HC job. Maybe you should be more secure in your teams head coaches prestige.
In short grow a pair

You guys don't get it. Even if you're a top five job...which you aren't...the odds are still just as high that you're going to be worse off.
Don't think so? Well, let's take a look at that top five:
1. Texas...Replaced their NC coach, now they're a dumpster fire.
2. Alabama...The one bona fide, long term success story.
3. USC...Hired an alcoholic and had to fire him mid year...after firing the previous coach mid year. Sark was supposed to be hot shite. He didn't last two years.
4. Ohio State...Yeah, Meyer got them a NC, but the current mess isn't going to end well. Buckeye fans are already bitching, and with good reason.
5. Florida...Looking better now, but had their own dumpster fire a year ago.

The Big 12 is the best conference in the nation this year IMO. Would people rank the conferences differently?

LSU is a top 20 not a top 10.

LSU is new money, ifen they even have any money. Believe or not a Notre Dame or even a Michigan are more prestigious. It's LSU, you people used to lose to people for 30 years at home.

Good God this is an insecure/lil bro post. There is no "Bama narrative" about your hypothetical open coaching job.

There's been 5-10 threads, all started by Bama fans through out the day about how terrible of a job LSU in fact is.

I'm not deleting the numbers, but this is how I see it:
Tier 1
Texas
Alabama
USC
Ohio State
The best in each region and conference. Depending on a coaches history and preferences in lifestyle, these are the best.
Tier 2
Florida
LSU
FSU
Georgia
Oklahoma
Notre Dame
Easily capable of national championship runs and elite recruiting classes. Minimal differences from tier 1, but either have a lack of history, or a slight disadvantage in recruiting. But teams capable of a dynasty.
