My BIL just died of lung cancer. If the young man is in hospice then two weeks probably isn't going to happen.
It's terrible to watch a loved one wither away.

Prior to Les Miles calling the kid, the entire Mountain Brook community had tied purple and gold balloons and ribbons on their mailboxes (some as I stated previously are still there). This caused it to be picked up by the media.
This is just speculation but there is a club in Birmingham called the Monday Morning Quarter Back Club (I'm sure it's a common thing other places but I don't feel like looking it up) that has coaches/sports figures (Greg Sankey, Gus Malzahn, Avery Johnson and others so far this year) speak at their meetings on Mondays. They raise money for charities that deal with child illnesses and disabilities. The main charity they support is the Childrens Hospital. Last year they raised >$1 million. A lot of the guys in MMQBC are Mountain Brook residents and I think Les has spoken to MMQBC in the past. I think most likely some of those people let Les know about this story before the media ever got a hold of it.

This is one of the many reasons I love Les Miles
hoping the kid gets to the game

Les understands.
People and life > a game.
People and life > a game.

such a tremendously sad situation for Sid and his Family.
Les is a really great guy and is just an all around great human being.

Here is his dads Facebook.
I can get his address but I'm not sure I feel comfortable posting it on here with some of the idiots on this board (i.e. the ATM fan who originally responded to this thread)

Here is the phone number for Mountain Brook High School. They have done a lot for him already and I'm sure they could put you in touch with the right people.
MBHS Address is 3650 Bethune Drive, Mountain Brook, AL 35223
If you're planning on sending something I'm sure they could get it from MBHS to the right person.

I can just about guarantee you that Sid and his family will be treated like dignitaries for that game. I'm sure Les will contact Nick/UA and accomodations will be made to get that kid to the game first class.
It really would be great to see LSU and Alabama come together to make this happen. It would obviously mean a lot to Sid, but it will mean far more to his parents getting to see him have one of his last wishes fulfilled.
