Only difference between UGA and UF , one team has an average QB and the other has an average Defense.

I'm pretty sure that playing an ineligible player forfeits games.
At least... that's what the rule book says.
But who reads books.
This is college football.
I wish as it would mean UT could forfeit instead of lose some of Dooley's games. Last year, you might remember the Fluker story. Well the only player to get in trouble was UT's Mo Couch (he was the only one around). We'd played two games and Couch had been ineligible. Couch lost his eligibility and since he was a senior he lost his career (we kept hearing we'd know soon but the NCAA took it's sweet time before ruling against him).
We did not have to forfeit the games he'd played in that year. My guess is that was because he was a bit player (he wasn't getting much PT at all and there's no way you could honestly claim he contributed to those first two wins of the season).
These days the NCAA is loathe to come down hard on a program UNLESS there are multiple infractions that the school knew about. IOW, I highly doubt UGA will have to vacate any games Gurley was in despite him being a key reason for victory. The NCAA also loves its popular players so Gurley will likely get 'time served.' If he was a no name he'd get the hammer.

Nice safe answer that can be used for any two teams. What will the key differences that translates to the scoreboard ?

My guess: UGA will be able to run the ball and stop the run much more consistently.

That is how I see it. At this point there is more upside with UF, because they have a decent Defense.

Georgia has a pretty good defense if you look at the numbers. And what kind of upside do they have? There is absolutely no chemistry on that team.
