It depends on what your standard as "big game"

Went off on South Carolina in 2012 off the top of my head, they were a top 20 team at the time if I remember correctly

He also had to deal with a really bad defense

He definitely had a huge arm. He also had 3 NFL talent receivers in Hunter, Rogers and Patterson (for his last year) at various times, as well as an NFL tight end in Rivera.

I thought Masons did a great job for a one year starter.

No doubt he had talent to throw to

We've had just as much QB talent in recent years as anyone -- just haven't been able to develop it.

Two former UF QBs should go in the first four rounds of the draft.

Hopefully Mac will reverse the trend.

And like 4 offensive linemen who start or are backups in the NFL now.

That 2012 Tennessee team had no business going 5-7. I know their defense was a disaster, but their offense had

1st round pick - Cordarrelle Patterson (WR)
1st round pick - JuWaun James (OT)
2nd round pick - Justin Hunter (WR)
3rd round pick - Dallas Thomas (OG)
6th round pick - Zach Fulton (OG)
6th round pick - Mychal Rivera (TE)
Free Agent - Tyler Bray (QB)
Free Agent - James Stone (C) (has started off and on for Falcons)
Free Agent - Tiny Richardson (OT) (had chronic knee issues)
Free Agent - Da'Rick Rogers (WR)

Just shows how bad Dooley really was, Petrino always had a bad defense but could at least outscore you.

Petrino could of easily won 10+ games with that offense

QBR is a made up ESPN stat.

Yea, it is. If I was using QBR you would have a point. I am using Passer Rating, which is an age old stat used by just about everyone. Thanks, though.

Same info. Again, when a screen pass that goes for 65 yards equals a post with the same results, it is comparing apples and oranges.

It isn't at all. QBR implements rushing stats, some sort of "Clutch" stat and numerous other things.

Alright, sounds good. I think we scored 1, maybe 2 times on WR screens this year and haven't thrown a good HB screen in 3 years.

What is your ITAT screen name? And you misspelled Attalla.

Bunker and Undercover, but thanks for your interests. What is yours on TiderInsider. My understanding is that is what gets you into the Wednesday Night meetings for the Cult.

Consistently bad - Vandy

Consistently average - Arkansas

Consistently good - Bama (but really it's been great teams around average QBs at times)

LSU had been consistent. Not the kind you want, but still consistent.

Stafford didn't play at UGA his senior year. Entered NFL Draft alert junior year.

Missouri
Chase Daniel (2005-2008) QB Rating 148.9
Blaine Gabbert (2009-2010) QB Rating 132.3
James Franklin (2011-13) QB Rating 136.7
Maty Mauk (2013-2014) QB Rating 131.0
Drew Lock (2015) QB Rating 90.5

Pretty competitive but damn last year was a fricking train wreck

Out of the 4 QBs he listed from Arkansas, only one was consistently average or worst

Bunker should have known. The only time of heard of Tiderinsider was on this site and it's precious that you call Bama a cult when that has been said about the Family since the late 80's at least. Nice spin however.

More of a testament to the talent around the qb's or qb's themselves ?

I think it's more about the offensive systems in this league. SEC teams for the most part don't run the same air raid stuff that we see in other conferences, thus they don't put up the same numbers. Defensive talent in the SEC has a lot to do with this as well.

ETA: You see the same thing in the Big Ten. Their teams run more ground oriented offenses for the most part, too. You don't see a lot of gaudy QB numbers in that league. They've had some good QBs, but they don't have Big 12/Pac 12 numbers. JT Barrett had a Heisman worthy season in 2014 and Russell Wilson was great in 2011, but other than that, not many huge number seasons.
