Let me ask everyone else here. Does this guy ever stay on topic, respond to what you actually said, or have any semblance of a capability to have a normal conversation about football?

I wasn't a fan of the Mustang package unless he was using 5 DL when he switched kids down to Tackle, but in Obhiaha's case-as well as TAMU's as a whole-I think having a kid who plays penetration and gap-shooting style is better for them.

Two-gapping and trying to hold up at the point of attack for them isn't a recipe for success due to the lack of dudes on the DL. They're a year-maybe-away from being able to do that or run 2-gap schemes on the DL and be successful with it due to depth issues. Which means asking him to penetrate and disrupt the pocket or shoot gaps and make TFL's is going to help him hold up long-term this year.

I'm not saying they'll be fantastic. But they'll be fresher later in the year and that will help them a bit.

The only part of the defense WITHOUT depth issues is the defensive line.

End:

JR Hall (4*)
SO-RS Jackson (3*)
SO-RS Chevis (3* LB)
SO Garrett (5*)

SR Obioha (3* DE)
JR Walker (4*)

SO Henderson (4*)
FR-RS Washington (4*)
FR Mack (5*)

Dude what's crazy here is that you said he was one of the strongest guys on the team. I never disagreed. I take you at your word and have the entire time. My only point was that he got manhandled and his level of play dipped-noticeably-at the end of the schedule.

I'm not trolling you. I'm just talking football. You can't even admit that. Instead, you created a straw man by confusing verb tenses here. I said he WAS out of shape, not that he IS out of shape. You're still confused and carrying on about it as if I was talking about present tense. Even now. After I've repeatedly pointed out your reading comprehension issue. Whether it was intentional or otherwise.

Why can't you just talk football instead of devolving this thread into bullsh!t? I think Garrett's a fantastic player and a difference maker. A future NFL beast. He's a key to your defense.

Are you so totally incapable of discussing him objectively here that you will totally sh!t up a thread with your inane BS and made up straw man arguments about stuff I didn't say?

You're like a black hole of douchiness. It's like there's hardly any escape or pulling you out of the abyss you're caught in. Come back here and talk pigskin bro. That's what I'm here for anyway. Or don't. Just let me know if you have no interest in that.

Because believe me, I'll stop trying otherwise. I have no problem with that.

Maybe it will be better since he provides zero pass rush

You can say this as many times as you want, its not true. LSU played him well, but he was far from manhandled unless you want to talk about one silly little gif that happened after the play ended.

Not above standing corrected here. You know your roster better than I do. Some of that knowledge is based on 384 yards rushing last year on Turkey Night in College Station.

Let me ask you this...Outside of your upper classmen, how much PT do those True Soph's and RS Soph's have last year? Outside of Garrett of course.

Meh... He had one bad game last year and a few mediocre games.

To say that Garrett isn't or won't be a stud based on one game being pushed around by a senior (would be) first round NFL draft pick is as dumb as saying Brandon Harrisiah isn't an otherworldly talent and won't be among the best quarterbacks in the conference because he had a bad game in his first ever start on the road in a tough Sec venue.

Garrett will be fine.

0 sacks in SEC play after October 11th. I don't think his level of play dipped, his level of competition just sky rocketed..

I'll give you that he actually put pressure on AJ10 on two plays in one-on-one situations with the SEC's best Left Tackle. That was impressive.

But I'm not just talking about the GIF. You guys moved him away from Collins several times to get him away from the pain-train. We also ran unbalanced with Hawk on the left who mauled him up pretty badly too. I think we had 70 yards rushing on 3 plays where we ran unbalanced, all to the left.

We schemed to run right at him. We had 384 yards rushing. You saying he didn't play poorly makes me sort've scratch my head. He had 1 solo tackle and 3 assists. No sacks. That's not negligible. But saying he played well? One tackle when we ran it right at him repeatedly?

It sure as sh!t ain't good, brah.
