That's what every opposing fanbase has been doing for the last 8 years.
None more annoying or persistent than Tenn fans. Don't worry. The illusion will end when Florida beats you guys in game 4.. How long has it been since you guys beat them?

Honestly, the longer the delay, the worse it's gonna get. So, if I were an opposing fanbase, I'd be praying for the Vols to do well and just get the inevitable pain over with.
It's like an earthquake. The longer the plates keep building up stress the worse the eventual quake is gonna be.
We're gonna make the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811-12 look like shite in comparison.

How long has it been since Ole Miss won a championship? Since before electricity?
You're NOTHING.
So shut the frick up little boy, 44-20-1, TCU just dipped their balls on your chin again.

Now to hopefully reclaim this thread from being about Tennessee...
Is this accurate? The UFA contracts I've seen are for 3 years and if the 4th year is not picked up they become Restricted Free Agents. Minimum salary with very little guaranteed, and a signing bonus between 2-10k. If La'el can negotiate a 2 year contract then that would be ideal for him. He gets to pick his team and hopefully take the one that offers him the most guaranteed.

If he doesn't sign, he can sign a 2 year free agent deal with any team at league minimum salary non-guaranteed. Beginning pay would suck, but he could sign a new contract after only 2 years.

Imagine the score if you guys played them. I think TN points back to past greatness more than any team in the NCAA.
Butch is gonna take you guys there tho. Keep the faith.

Agreed the agent screwed him, and if your part of an investigation. There is a cloud over you.

You Rebals could point back to past greatness, if you had any, and if you weren't lynching innocent black people.

Don't point fingers when you gloss over the history of your own state during the nadir.

As an alumni of a university that has obviously made some of the most significant strides towards racial equality in the modern world, I take great offense.

You do realize the "Klan" was originally formed in Tennessee, right?

If I'm GM, I draft him in 7th round with intention to pay him 1st round money if it turns out he's not a murderer... What a steal it would be... And only risking a 7th round pick... Put it this way: Would you trade a 7th round pick for a first rounder? When all you have to lose is a 7th round pick if the 1st rounder never shows???

Gotta feel bad for the kid. No team wants to touch him, at least not with a draft pick, on the off-chance he turns out to be the next Hernandez (and if he does, my pity disappears instantly, of course.) That's just bad PR for any team. Granted, he's a big-time talent that will be in heavy demand as an UDFA if he's cleared, but he's losing out on some substantial money because of this entire sad affair.
Edit: Apparently the NFL wouldn't allow him to withdraw from the draft and try the supplemental draft, giving his legal odyssey time to get resolved. WTF, NFL?

Are you sure about that? Because that's clearly not the feeling of every single organization in the NFL. Let's let this play out before we martyr him. A little healthy skepticism is in order here. Because imho it seems kind of smoky in here...

No, I'm not "sure about that," as evidenced by the fact I clearly said that if he proves to be guilty, my pity disappears instantly. But as far as feeling bad for someone who is suffering the fallout from a crime despite the fact that he hasn't even been charged yet, let alone convicted, yeah, I don't think I need to defend that sentiment. If you know more than me about the likelihood of his guilt, do share so I can take the extra information it into account.

I understand. I'm not lecturing you. I really at this point just feel a need to be on the record before what I believe may very well happen -happens.

So... Just making sure you know the most racially discriminate group in the history of the planet, aside from the Nazi's, came from your beloved state.
So... before you chastise OM for the whole James Meredith ordeal, for whom we have a statue and memorial, you should look back at your own history and STFU.

You can't do that. Hence why Collins' was so insistent on trying to defer out of this draft. You can't get drafted in the 7th yet paid like a 1st rounder.
