That's the thing. UA will have a new QB. I don't think anyone can really know if Kiffin can train him properly or not. Seems a gamble.

Not saying Bama will hire Kiffin - though that seems likely at this point - but I'm not so sure he'd be the "flop" so many seem to want him to be. He made UT somewhat decent that year with an absolute garbage QB. He was a good playcaller with studs at USC when he was only the OC. I think he's a colossal failure as a HC, but he's a good OC.

It will be Saban's offense any way. The main worry for SEC fans shouldn't be his duties on Saturdays. It should be his recruiting. Dude can flat out recruit.

Would be the greatest day, almost better when all the rumors on Saban to Texas were coming out

You mean like letting coaches loan players money or havin former players acting as runners for agents?

He did that with Fulmer's players. What'd he do at USC with his own players?

If I had to guess, I'd guess that Kiffin will have a very quiet, very business-like role on the team. He'll be responsible for calling plays and getting the quarterback ready to go.

In the mean time, he's being groomed by Saban to become a real head coach. You have to imagine that after failing in Oakland, failing at Tennessee, and failing at USC that he's questioning his own ability to lead a football program.

He nows has the chance to learn from the best in the business. Saban isn't going to let a coach ruin his program, and I seriously doubt Kiffin is going to sign up to coach under Nick Saban believing that he'll be able to take over aspects of the program.

I'd like to believe all that, it's a great sentiment. I staunchly oppose his hiring, and consider him wearing Crimson a horrible look for The U of A. But, whatever. I guess it could be fun. Everybody hates us anyway.

he's never really been an OC either. he rode Norm Chows coattails and has failed everywhere he's been since.

He was teh OC/Playcaller in 2005, Chow was with the Titans. That offense was arguably the best in history.

Those sound like things that a head coach might do.

Once upon a time, somebody must have been impressed with Kiffin's coaching ability but he has seriously damaged his reputation because of things he has done from a team management standpoint as well as stupid things he has done off the field. He needs to resurrect his career by doing what got him noticed in the first place which is on the field coaching.

I'm no fan of Kiffin's. I think he's a douchebag extraordinaire but I trust Saban's judgment when picking assistant coaches a lot more than my own.

Dude that's Lane fricking Kiffen.

The worst cancer any program ever encountered. He's proven it time and time and time again.

I am praying you idiots trust Lord Saban enough to swallow this load. This is not a smart idea to say the least.

Maybe Saban is arrogant enough to believe that he's good enough to make Kiffin into a good coach when no one else could. I hope he believes this.

Kiffin isn't a bad coach, just doesn't seem to respond very well to adversity...well I guess that does make him a bad coach.

Keep hope alive ....the other decline is real .

I hate that dbag as much as anyone but the guy can coach and is one of the best recruiters in the nation. Maybe if you say enough negative things it will really happen . Don't fool yourselves he can coach and its a possibility that he will do big things at Bama. It's also possible he's a cancer and causes problems .

I think he would know who's in charge and be on a short leash . We shall see if and what happens but to act like you know is just silly. I understand the best case scenario is a little scary for opposing fan bases . So carry on like this doesn't scare the shite out of you and keep up the cool"please oh please do this " like your not worried .

For the record I think it works out well and everyone especially LSU is fricked 60% sure this happens .If not its cool because its a shite show and I like a little excitement 100% sure this happens ... Rawl Tide
