The saddest thing about all of this is that many fans are actually asking for him. Are you people fricking kidding me? Get over yourselves

the best coach in football isn't going to gamble like that.
He'll do whatever it takes to mimick Auburn's offense.

the invite—and now perhaps the length of his stay—has got Tide fans scared shitless. As Daniel mentions, "[e]veryone is in panic mode that he is being added to the staff." If we, as Americans, have even one single lucky bone in our bodies this will happen.

I'm not sure I can see those two egos co-existing for long than a season. Though I wouldn't be surprised if that's all Kiffin wants out of it. Attach his name to a big program like Alabama, get the pub out of it and bolt for something else.

One thing for sure is that he'd piss off everyone else in the league.

From Joe Schad's twitter:

"Lane (Kiffin) is a really good offensive coach, and I've always had a tremendous amount of respect for him," Nick Saban said last month.

Please let this happen. saban and kiffin on the same staff. Oh my. That would put the best D mind and the best O mind, in the nation, on the same staff.

As I said on the coaching changes thread, I hope Kiffin does as much good for Alabama as he did for Tennessee.

Would be like McDaniels going back to New England. He needed some time to mature and improve his reputation. Now his name has been popping up in head coaching searches. Kiffin needs the same thing. I'm not sure Bama is the place for him, but he does run the kind of offense that Saban seems to like.
