Thoughts?

It would be the only thing that could stop Saban from averaging 10 wins a year at Bama besides retirement. Please god let this happen.

Are all of you idiots insane? Kiffen at Bama is not good for anybody else in the SEC. Lane is an outstanding recruiter and a great Qb coach. I for one am so glad he left Tenn because they'd be a pain in the arse to deal with if he had stayed there

College[edit]

Scelfo started coaching in college at Tulane University in 1996. He started out coaching tight ends before moving to quarterbacks and being an offensive coordinator. He coached four quarterbacks that played in the NFL. Those quarterbacks were Shaun King, Patrick Ramsey, J.P. Losman, and Lester Ricard.

Scelfo later coached at Louisiana Tech University and the University of Arizona, where he coached Nick Foles.

He was let go after two seasons at Arizona and he took a break from coaching in 2012.[1]

Jacksonville Jaguars[edit]

Scelfo signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars following the 2012 NFL season, becoming the team's quarterbacks coach on January 23, 2013.[2

As you can imagine, Alabama is not welcomed warmly into Knoxville under pretty much any circumstances. With Lane Kiffin in the mix...

However I think Saban plays it safe and hires Mike Groh which is another grand slam hire for Bama.

Groh was rivals and 247's recruiter of the year last year

Billy Napier returned to the Alabama coaching staff on March 1, 2013, as wide receivers coach. Napier joined the Crimson Tide staff after serving as the assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach at Colorado State in 2012 for former Tide offensive coordinator Jim McElwain.

Napier returned to the Capstone in March to replace Mike Groh, who accepted an assistant coaching job with the Chicago Bears.

Prior to Alabama, Napier spent seven of the previous eight years in two different stints at Clemson. During Napier's final two seasons at Clemson he earned an elevated position as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. At the age of 29, he became the youngest coordinator in Clemson history. In his first season as Clemson's coordinator, the 2009 Tigers scored a school-record 436 points and scored 54 touchdowns (third-most in school history), averaged 5.73 yards per play (fourth best) and finished as the ACC Atlantic Division champions. Quarterback Kyle Parker was named a Freshman All-American and nine players Napier coached from 2009-10 went on to careers in the NFL

Groh was hired as an assistant for his father Al, who was head coach of the New York Jets in 2000.[1] Groh was hired on the Virginia staff in 2001 as the wide receivers coach before he took on the task of coaching the Cavalier quarterbacks in 2003 along with the receivers. Then in 2006, he was named the teams offensive coordinator. He was relieved of the offensive coordinator position at the University of Virginia in December 2008.[2] Groh spent the 2009 season at Alabama as an offensive graduate assistant as the Crimson Tide recorded a 14–0 record en route to the National Championship. Louisville Cardinals head coach Charlie Strong announced, on January 13, 2010, that he has hired Mike Groh to coach the quarterbacks at University of Louisville. On February 7, 2011, it was announced he had been given the job of wide receivers coach at the University of Alabama.[3] On February 21, 2013, it was announced that Groh was hired by the Chicago Bears as wide receivers coach

Do you even football, bro? This would be the death blow to the Bama program for a few years, which is why you won't see Saban come anywhere close to actually hiring this snakeoil salesman clown.

And? It's not like Bama needs help recruiting and being a great QB coach =/= to being a great OC. See: Sanders, Randy

3. Scelfo

Plenty of coaches don't cut it as a HC but are excellent coordinators. Also, it's not like the pac 12 and sec are THAT far apart.

He was playing against a stacked deck at USC. They downplayed the scholarship restrictions but having 10 less equal players does have an effect on a team.

And let's not act like the Pac12 is chopped liver. They ain't the SEC but you could argue they're the 2nd best conference

I don't feel like Kiffin is a good OC either. Not a fan of his play calling from the few games I've watched.

Kiffin has done nothing but sucked everywhere he's been.

On top of that he violates the NCAA rules and is a unlikeable loud mouth constantly calling negative attention to himself.

No way in hell should that guy be let anywhere near a football program.
