I know you're still new to the SEC, but Les never fires assistants. He tells them to find new jobs and let's them "leave on their own." He did it with Peveto/Mallory, Crowton, Studrawa, etc.
The closest he got was when he demoted that thief Brick Haley to intern. Hilarious.

Well thanks for your input earlier; even with your admitted ignorance.

Ignorance is what aggy does best. That's why there are aggy jokes.

Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt

I just don't understand the whole 'we don't fire, we tell them to look around thing.' That might be Les' way of doing things, but perception wise, it doesn't make LSU look great. Firing Steele and then him getting hired by Auburn is one thing. No harm, no foul for LSU. He couldn't make it. But not firing him and then him leaving to go to Auburn makes it seem like LSU couldn't keep him, despite what the reason he left was. That's all.

Wow, what a train wreck Auburn has become.

If true, why does LSU keep losing coordinators in lateral moves to direct rivals?
Cement O on this staff. I don't hate Steele but I'd prefer O be the guy.

What the frick does this have to do with anything? Stop derailing the thread. A simple, "I didn't know what I was talking about when I spouted off earlier" is all that was needed. Even that, we already got.

I don't know who to laugh at more, LSU or AU.
Auburn. Easily Auburn.
The only thing better for LSU this offseason would be landing a competent graduate transfer or JUCO quarterback.
Auburn's losing Frost, Holsey, McKinzey, Swain, and Jonathan Jones for sure. They're probably also losing Adams and Lawson. If they have Kevin Steele as DC and Lance Thompson coaching linebackers, the 2016 defense will make the 2012 unit look like the 1985 Bears.

Drac was right, nuance is not a strength of yours

noboby will care about this move except LSU and Auburn fans (and apparently A&M fans )
Steele is not as respected as Chavis. This will just be a ticker on the botton of SportsCenter.

Auburn fans quiet in this thread must not want to jinx the hire

Les isn't too worried about perception if you haven't picked up on that

Yes a season that just keep on giving, now if Memphis spanks that arse today the REC check was well worth it.

Perhaps LSU can't afford his buyout. So they will take the perception hit and let him leave on his own.

What does it matter how you think it looks if the outcome is exactly the same?
