I don't have a problem with the last hit either, but I definitely think Heard's hit was incredibly stupid. Reminds me a lot of Quinton Dial's hit on Aaron Murray two years ago in the SEC Championship. I just brought up that hit because one of your fellow Aggies was laughing about McCoy being hurt in that game, and I thought that was a little over the line considering there was a cheap shot involved.

I understand all A&M fans aren't that way. It's much more fun/interesting having sports conversations with reasonable fans like yourself. Appreciate the response and back and forth. Without a doubt, you guys are gaining momentum. This season is more important for you guys then most fans think. With the current state of college football, a couple of consecutive 4 loss seasons can turn a once white hot program to just another school in the west.

Sorry but this isn't a make or break season for A&M.
A&M will still be the only SEC school in Texas.
As long as the Permian Basin and Eagleford don't run dry we will be able to build anything or hire anybody we need to get better recruits.

So, when we come into the conference, we're told by everyone in this conference that we'd be lucky just to win 1 sec game, and instead finish in the top 5 our first year and aren't allowed to have pride in that?
Jesus, this place.

Why do we use this conference champ as a homogeneous idea?...
All good points, but I can see an undefeated Texas (assuming OU and Baylor crap the bed and thus lower their SOS) being left out of the playoffs while an undefeated ACC and 1-loss B1G, PAC, and SEC team make it in. I think Texas is on the edge of being in BYU territory - where an undefeated season doesn't guarantee anything. This is in the context of the previous poster's question about whether Texas is in a better spot than they were before. I don't see how.

This.
Not even close.
It's always been about 2015 & beyond.
The kid from Kerrville just added some unexpected good times.

When we win the MNC it still won't be enough

Sadly for those 2 Texas fans if Texas had wanted into the SEC they would be in the SEC.

As is usually the case, I agree with each word typed by my brother from another.
Maybe it's just me, but this place gets grosser by the day.

"Wait until you win back to back before you can talk, aggy. Gotta win over half the titles in a given decade, aggy. Playoff titles aren't as pure as BCS-era and prior ones, aggy"
I can hear it now

Before we ever played an SEC game I was being asked by Auburn fans if we were ready for our arse whippin.

His brilliance masked our deficiencies and lack of depth, which are only now trending in a more SEC-direction. He bought us time, which we've been maximizing as much as possible in short order.
We'll see how it goes from here. Anyone who thinks they can posit TAMU's ultimate standing in this conference based on past history and/or early returns is speaking pure conjecture.

Yeah, I think most SEC fans who try to give us shite completely forget the rhetoric A&M got when we first entered the SEC and no games were played yet.
"Will you guys enjoy being at the bottom of the SEC? It's going to take at least 5-10 years before A&M is competitive in this conference. If you couldn't win in the Big 12, you're going to have a very bad time in the SEC."
And then we come out with a 10-2 season with a win over #1 Alabama and then we get to beat down the old Big 12 power house in OU. Suddenly the rhetoric changes tune but still in form of slighting A&M.
"You think you guys are so good because you got 3rd in the division? You guys haven't done anything in over a decade before this year and now you act like you been there the whole time."

Winning is mostly about being committed to it. A&M seems to have stepped up there game considerably in the last few years and all A&M fans know it. So long as you stay committed you'll find w's.

Well that and the fact that we now have a higher benchmark to judge ourselves by.

The most points ever given up at Jordan Hare was to Texas A&M.

The LSU fans that are talking smack sure don't seem to remember the 90s: Hullman and Dinardo! Well, we had our decade in hell from '02 to '11. Can Sumlin win titles? Who knows? But he is certainly laying a good foundation.
