thats why you guys should be worried. Harris is hitting play action constantly in the last 3 games (SC UF WKU) Hes actually a very good QB for the system LSU is running this year

Coker was 21/27 Saturday. Griffin was 2/2 on FG, did a great job of not letting UT return Kickoffs.

Bama I think will focus on stopping LF7 or slowing

LF7 which could fall into the hands of B Harris

LSU will depend on very good speed at LB to focus on Bama rushing and very quick DE play for slow footed Coker at QB

As a LSU fan I think both of these points play into
LSU on the plus side.

Things going well for LSU LF7 is just being himself and makes more plays than Bama can handle - which makes the Bama D focus on LF7 - then it becomes the B Harris show

Things going well for Bama - They control LF7 from their base D and put pressure on B Harris

I think that will be the ball game

I agree with a poster that said LF7 is special - I agree with this - Bama has not seen this type of player - Nick has not seen this type of back close but not LF7

I think LF7 is that good and he will show it against Bama - Bama is right when they say LSU gets up for them - they do

Not trolling I sincerely believe LSU wins just because of fournette. A legend like that doesnt come through college fb very often.

I agree with that. And of course I believe Bama is going to win because of our D. Legends play on both sides of the ball. And Ragland might be one. And that's just one of many future NFL players.

It's definitely going to be an epic clash of some incredible players. Tons of Sunday talent on both teams.

How do LSU and Alabama stack up nationally?
LSU Alabama
Scoring Offense 38.9(13th nationally) 33.5 (43rd)
Rushing Offense 309.1 (4th) 188.5 (42nd)
Passing Offense 156.9 (116th) 233.4 (61st)
Total Offense 466 (27th) 421.9 (49th)

Scoring Defense 22.6 (39th) 16.4 (15th)
Rushing Defense 93.7 (7th) 78.5 (4th)
Passing Defense 222.1 (64th) 197.3 (41st)
Total Defense 315.9 (20th) 275.8 (6th)

LSU's passing offense will have to do better and Alabama will have to slow the LSU run. (No surprises there)

I believe Harris' ability to scramble for first downs is going to play a major role in LSU's offensive success.

Funny, isn't it?

I don't know that Griffith is solid yet. He has had streaks before when he fell back into a slump. But I'm a lot less concerned than I was a month ago.

Coker is the funny part. He has gotten better and better as the year progressed, and he is simply not a liability at this point. He needs to find a way to get rid of the ball better to avoid a sack, but just about every other aspect of his play is solid.

Perhaps the biggest event impacting the upcoming game was Coker leading that late drive against Tennessee when we didn't have time to be balanced with the run. Whether you want to give credit to the receivers instead, or whatever, you better believe that Coker's confidence AND the team's confidence in HIM is at a different level right now.

UGA had Chubb when Bama played them. Shut him down, except for a long garbage TD late.

I'm going to remind you of this when LF has a below average game for him, and Coker has a game winning drive at the end.

And it's because football is a team sport - not even a legendary running back wins by himself, and a qb that is only "pretty good" can break your back if he has the talent around him.

possible but i doubt it. crowd was very loud at moo state and had thousands with their dumb cow bells and it was a close game. I think he'll do fine in BDS as long as we're not the ones needing points in the 4th

How many yards did he pass for against Moo St?

If Griffith falls back to early season form, their best strategy is to let him kick.

I think LF will get 125. And Harris will do ok but this game hinges on the other side. I think this is one of our worst defenses in the last 10 years. I think Henry will have more yards than LF and we will have hard time stopping bama balanced yet somewhat erratic attack. Sometimes kiffin tries to get too creative versus playing more smash mouth football which is bamas strength. I believe bama will benefit from better field position due to the punter advantage and lsu will hit on some big plays. 24-20 bama. But could just as easily be lsu. Either way two great teams in a great matchup.

If it comes down to special teams and field position, I like Alabama's chances. We're certainly much better in net punting (our punter averages more yards per punt, and LSU is dead last in opposing punt returns). FG kicking is in favor of LSU, but Griffith is 10 of his last 12.

Also, Adam is booting nearly half of his kickoffs for touchbacks, while LSU only gets about a quarter of theirs (not to mention that Adam has knocked 9 of his last 15 for touchbacks). Now that we have Drake returning kickoffs, that production has stepped up.

I stated in a previous thread, it wouldn't surprise me if Bama wins despite being outgained, thanks to winning the field position battle for at least 2-3 drives that lead to TDs for Bama.

But what if LF gets his one long run in the first quarter? I can see that happening. He breaks one for 60-80 yards, scores then grinds out another for the rest of the game. I like LSU's chances in that scenario.
