I think we need to have some delayed runs, short quick passes (if coker's realease will allow it) etc. to slow down the rush a bit. Keep leaning on the run game and then in the second half that will maybe allow for some PA bombs over the top.

This game will be won in the trenches.

They had no qb to keep the defense honest.
To be fair, we heard that both UGA's QB and Texas A&M's QB were lighting up the world before they both faced us. Both were world beaters before we showed up.

I think we need to have some delayed runs,
LSU has played the delay exceptionally well most of the season.
Their rush D has been very solid but the defensive left side - when Arden Key is game - is weak...very weak.
When Florida needed a few yards, that's where they would go.
I'm telling you this, Bama fans, get ready to see some of the worst special teams play you will ever see at the college level.

UGA had Chubb when Bama played them. Shut him down, except for a long garbage TD late.
Leonard fournette is not Nick Chubb, LSUs oline is not Georgia's.

but this game is decided based on Brandon Harris. If he can make plays through the air, I think LSU can win.
I agree...think this will be the game in a nutshell for LSU...LF will get his yards but Harris will need to make plays for LSU to win...
For Bama, we've got to cut down on negative plays on first down...we're dang near last in the country in that category...and cut down on turnovers...if we have no turnovers, I like our chances...if we have 2+ (and don't generate many), not so much...

I think Harris throws the ball 15 times or less, a lot of option plays early in the first half and a lot of guice in the first half. LSU is going to go right at Bamas weakness, and take a lot of plays sideline to sideline, until bama tires. Fournette will have 20 + carries in the second half. They are going to put the ball in his hands to finish Alabama, not Harris.
LSU always tries this versus Alabama, however the difference this year is that they know they have guys better than Alabama has to get it done.

Some are wondering about Harris having not played in a big road environment. He actually did last year at Auburn, and Miss St this year is somewhat of a test (and he was more than fine despite the lack of an earth shattering stat sheet). This will be his biggest test yet on the road for sure, but he's not entirely green like some are implying.

I don't see Bama getting the edge in the this game
Lsu will be on fire and that means LF7 will be on fire
Bo / Sanders / Walker / Jim Brown / AP
these are all names being talked about comparing
LF7 game to the great ones
Question is he a great one - Great ones show up when it counts - I think Lenard goes off on Bama
Yes B Harris is not an average QB - better than you think he is
MY gut tells me Lsu wins by 10 but my gut really just wants to beat Bama
No smack at all - this year I think Lsu is better than Bama - it happens

If Harris can throw like that in a rain storm...
And I am not calling WKU world beaters but they have a few guys on that team that will be in the NFL

Seriously? Athens when UGA was undefeated, Texas A&M when they were undefeated?

Alabama's secondary is better than what you think it is. There were at least 3 dropped INTs in the Tennessee game. The one thing that kills them are the throws on the short side of the field

Alabamas defense is much better than LSUs, while LSU's offense has been one of the best I have seen out of Miles. Bama's offense has not put it together for whatever reason.
I believe Fournette and Henrys yards will be a wash, the game is going to depend on how many big catches the WRs from LSU can come up with, how many mistakes Coker makes, and just how bad LSUs spec teams decides it wants to play.
I wouldn't put a dollar on this game.

Brandon Harris has looked solid, but part of that has come from playing some of the worst defensive secondaries in college football.
Now, that said - his performance against Florida is the best indicator how good he has gotten. That said, even Florida is just a shade above mid-pack in defensive QB rating in the SEC (they are giving up less than a full yard per game than Alabama in passing, but teams have thrown 60 more times against Alabama than they have against Florida).
Harris has looked solid since an atrocious outing against Eastern Michigan, but neither South Carolina nor WKU are good comparisons (ranking 75th and 95th in defensive pass rating, respectively).
I'm not trying to knock Harris down - he was impressive against a top 25 pass defense in Florida. All I am saying is that he hasn't faced a defense nearly as capable against the pass as Alabama (12th nationally, 1st in the SEC in pass defense rating).
As far as rushing defense - Florida gave up 254 yards to Tennessee, as opposed to Alabama giving up 132.
Unfortunately, all I have to look at are these roundabout methods of analysis, due to the lack of common opponents.
I wonder if this is normal, or if this is odd that LSU and Alabama have no common foes prior to kick off.

Eight of those 19 offensive flags were false starts with seven different guilty parties.
Alabama ranks in the bottom half nationally in terms of penalty yardage. The 60.6 yards lost to flags each game is the 80th best average.
Penalties were called 25 times in the past three games with 19 coming on offense. It matters a lot since Alabama's offense is built on staying on schedule in the running game. A first-down flag immediately shifts the play-calling out of what Alabama wants to do.
I pasted these out of a BR article about things Bama has to improve. This has been the story of our offense. This is why Bama starts drives at 1st and 15. If they can't miraculously improve the presnap penalties before the LSU game after having all season to correct it but failing to do so, there's no way they can beat LSU.
