If JFF only scored 17 points, A&M would lose by 30.

Last season, in his first start...JFF scored 17 and aTm lost by 3.

In 2010, in his second start, Cam scored 17 and AU won by 3.

He threw TWO more pics than Cam last year. And Johnny had over 150 more attempts and yet a better completion %.

And that was last year. He's markedly better as a passer in '13.

It would be interesting to compare the receivers Cam had vs. those that JFF has.

6'5" -- 225 -- 4.54 40.... He runs awkwardly and he isnt extremely fast but he isnt slow. Just looks that way because of how he runs.

To Florida 11-2 (7-1 SEC)

To Mississippi State 9-4 (4-4 SEC)

Thats a fair comparison

And lets not even mention the fact the 2010 Auburn D wasnt dreadful... which is what kept Cam from having to score 42 to be in a game.

I'll say better then Tebow, but worse then Newton. Both were bruisers, but Newton would just run over people and that's the biggest difference between him and Manziel.

Also, Cam didn't have much of a defense, either.

Guess not, if you don't consider 60th in total defense to be dreadful.

Cam was 6 inches taller than Johnny

Huge disadvantage, hard to see over linemen

Johnny and Cam's skill players are about even
Johnny does have a better line though.

Johnny seems to make his receivers better, I can't say that for Cam

You don't know what you're talking about.

He got sacked last Saturday. He rarely gets sacked, but it does happen.

JFF will be done the first big hit in the NFL, if he makes it there.

People are forgetting that AU's defense was dreadful, save one or two games.

Also, while Manziel played well against Alabama, a lot of his passing yards came off of lobs that Evans came down with. The Alabama secondary played dreadful. Manziel is a good college QBm, no doubt. Newton is/was an athletic monster, even on the NFL level. I see him projecting as a Tebow-type at that level. System guy who won't be able to outrun DEs in the NFL, weak arm.

If Johnny stays for a 3rd year (highly doubtful), he will unquestionably go down as the greatest college football player of all time. But Cam's single year was so good, and given that he won the whole deal, that Johnny will probably need a 3rd year to unseat him.

But Johnny is unquestionably better than Tebow. Tebow was a great athlete in a great system surrounded by lots of other great athletes. Johnny is a great athlete, but he's also truly a great quarterback.

Explain to me again what the hell that has to do with this year? If A&m only scores 17 in a game this year, they will be blown out.

One difference between JFF and Cam/Tebow is a NC ring. JFF won't get one.

This matters not. Trent Richardson and TJ Yeldon were game changers as freshmen running backs.

Kids, gather around. Today we'll be discussing the recency effect.

Tebow didn't have the "wow" factor that Manziel brings to the table. He was known for taking a game over in the 4th quarter by sheer determination, but he rarely did it with any type of razzle-dazzle.

I'd never have thought I'd agree with an arky fan so much. JFF is great. Call me a homer but I'd take Cam over Johnny 10 outta 10 times because both are close in many areas but one comparison isn't even remotely close, CAM IS ALL THAT JOHNNY IS EXCEPT HE'S HUGE!

Show me a link of Johnny running over a linebacker (of an SEC defense at that) to score a TD and I'll reconsider. I'm waiting.....
