Led with his helmet and hit above the shoulders.
Textbook targeting.

This. The helmet clearly hit first, but it's not like you can convince a fan base that doesn't know what a QB slide is.

It's definitely borderline. But I'll tell you, if the Auburn tackler would have made contact with QB, he would have been gone.

They need to ban those blocks on kick offs and punts where guys can just go up and smash a guy who can't even see them from the side.

It was a shoulder to shoulder hard hit. The kid wasn't blindsided, so that's a non-starter. Sucks to get hit hard enough to be injured, but the TAMU guy was executing a good block for the runner.

RSJ bragging about it on Twitter. What a douche.

no he shouldnt have. he caused kyler to get taken out of the game
To be fair, the fact that it happened when he went down for a slide complicates things.
On the original hit, I think it was clean but unfortunate. Seemed the whipping motion not only killed his knee, but also caused their heads to collide after the fact. Not aTm player's fault but I'm sure he has a strain of thug POS in him nonetheless.

The only helmet to helmet contact on that play was #24 spearing Kyler Murray with his helmet.
Sorry your player got fricked up but it was a clean block.

well this didn't happen

You must be blind. Go watch the video and pause it, he led with the helmet and the helmet clearly hits his helmet first. Stop being butt hurt over losing and trying to defend the dirtiest player in the SEC

Its not friggin targeting. He hit him in the shoulder with the shoulder. Its just physics that the tiny guy got the worst of it. Im so tired of pussies on these forums calling any play where something bad happens 'dirty'. Clean hard block, sucks that the auburn guy got hurt

Hole up there podner. Sumlin may not be a great coach but he isn't a TPOS.
