You're a terrible person and should feel terrible.
Imagine turning the contrast on your TV to max. Now, imagine covering your TV with a full jar of apple jelly. Now set up the volume so you can barely hear the broadcasters, the crowd sounds like they're stuffed into a Folger's coffee can, but COMMERCIALS ARE SO LOUD YOU PHYSICALLY BLEED FROM YOUR ANUS.
That was JP/Raycom/LF.

^May be one of the best SECr Post I've read
Not sure if this has already been posted but it's 30 for 30 spoof titled, "The Daves of Our Lives" and should give you an idea of what a Saturday game on Jefferson Pilot was like

I loved JP sports.
But only because it was the first SEC game of the day.

They were doing the "game of the week" about the same time as the beginnings of ESPN - late 70's. Every team was guaranteed to be on at least once. It was about the only time cellar dwellers (Ole Miss, Vandy, Miss State, KY) were guaranteed to be on TV.
Fast forward 30+ years and very little has changed. They are probably using the same cameras and the same shitty production teams.
Its bona-fide crap. The best thing about the the SEC network is JP is going the way of the dinosaurs.
Oh yeah....fricking noob

ETA: You'll never experience having an 11:30 game coverage with grainy resolution and the Daves.

So did JP make the PPV games free? Or did they take the tier games above it?

But honestly, it was great back in the day. Gotta remember there were only 3 channels to choose from. The JP game of the week was the "early game" before the afternoon and night games. There wasn't an ESPN Game Day or anything else to fill your day.

Man, you gotta think back to the stone ages of televised football.
There was no tiered games. The SEC usually had one game on a weekend. Maybe a night game with the afternoon game. So you take the top two games away and JP had a great selection.
