I am reading Dixieland Delight and Jefferson Pilot Sports is referenced. What is this and are they as bad as people are saying they are?

They're great if you want to watch Mizzou vs SC State at 11am , followed by Wake vs James Madison

Correct answer: Jefferson Pilot, a cheap brand sports network, used to broadcast cable & free games of somewhat lukewarm interest that ESPN and CBS didn't want. There was a forerunner to JP but cant recall name right this second...anyway, the new SEC package is much better.
This information is probably useful to UT, Mizzou, Moo State, Arkie, Vandy and AU fans based on their teams performance recently...Ole Miss was a member but recent success recruiting has them barely escaping the dreaded 12 noon broadcast times and poor quality of some broadcast stations...except when paired with the aforementioned parties usually.

Jefferson Pilot was the SEC Game of the week. 11:30. Also did the Wednesday night basketball game and Saturday basketball games. Basically what the SEC network does now.

When they first came out no one cared how bad they were - you could see the game - sort of . In hindsight though, words can't describe how bad they were.

Maybe this will help... Houston Nutt did a better coaching job at Ole Miss in 2010 and 2011 than Dave Rowe did in the booth for Jefferson Pilot in 1998 and 1999.

I gotta admit I kind of miss it but I would never want it to come back.
