So tell me who was better. Who played the schedule that was worthy of their ranking?

The ACC was probably the best conference in college football last season. Clemson won the conference and won the national title. They every bit earned their standing.

ETA: Final NCAA final strength of schedule rankings puts them 3rd behind Alabama and Ohio State. Going back to the B12 competition level discussion, their highest representative is Oklahoma at 11th.

Nothing wrong with what he said. You'd hope your QB is confident and believes his team has a chance to be a very good team.

Au can be a very good team with the right QB.

Their defense, did it lose a lot from last year? That will the key for Au this year. Can the d make enough stops to allow the O to outscore opponents.

SOS is the most overblown stat in College Football. An average team in and an average league can have a high SOS. I love this comment on your listed page:

Our new power ratings have been in development since 2011. Designed exclusively for predictive purposes, these ratings improve upon the old ratings in several ways, most notably by incorporating a preseason rating for each team that improves early season accuracy.

I still find it funny how badly OU fans want to be a part of the SEC.

I still find it funny that any HS QB would commit to LSU.

Why in the hell would LSU fans root for Stidham? That dude can go F himself...along with the entire Auburn team..

Here is the Auburn puzzle, work in progress, with some "pieces" still missing. But I think we all can get the drift when "all pieces of the puzzle" are finally put in their place...

Calvin and Hobbes are great. My grandfather used to mail me C & H clippings from his paper. Actually he sent them to all of us, my brother, my 4 cousins and I.

So answer the question. Who would you say earned their rating and what critera would you use.

I pretty much know the answer. You simply don't want to give them credit for being good. You'd rather they actually sucked and still beat Alabama.

I do not think you can judge one schedule to another in college football. Just like with stats, it all depends on who you play and the scenario of each game. Head to head is a good indicator but not based on Bowl matchups. Too many leagues have tie ends with lower ranked teams or Conferences.

I think it is easy for Clemson or FSU, because all they have to get up for is two or three games each year.

Fair enough.

I think you're selling Clemson and to a slightly lesser extent, FSU short though. Jimbo and Dabo have built very solid programs that will be very good on a consistent basis - mostly by building SEC-like teams. It really isn't their fault that the rest of the league either can't or won't do the same thing.

Honestly bro it seemed like that was all we had to do last year and the final scores back it up. The ACC is for real and they are only getting better. Oh and LOL at the obsessed sooner spouting off about the big 12. It is comical bro.

The SEC sucked last year because the QB play sucked. Alabama wasn't any better than they have been the last few years, just the rest of the league took a step back last year mainly due to poor QB play. The league should take a step up with the influx of better QBs.

It's amazing that the Auburn fans can admit what we all see with our own eyes. And it's not just the QB play, it's the exit of Urban Meyer and Les miles (mostly Urban) leaving Saban to dominate the league.

Hard to disagree with any of that honestly. Quarterback play did hurt pretty bad. It got us too. Hurts did a great job for a true freshman but he was still a true freshman.
