SHE believes she was raped. If she didn't, she'd never have called her parents right away like that.

Well to be fair a drunk woman can't legally consent.
No, incapacitated or incoherent can't consent. Drunk women can and it's not rape.

I agree - there were holes in her memory, and they didn't think they could get a conviction with the evidence they had. Doesn't mean she made it up though. They estimated she would have been legally drunk at the time of the incident. There are date rape drugs that leave your system very rapidly and may notika rape shown up. But she reported it right away, went to the hospital and called her parents. And she didn't know who it was until she recognized him the next month. That's not someone who made the whole thing up.
My guess is someone is getting sued - likely a bunch of people. Winston, TPD, the detective, etc. She's announcing before the Heisman ceremony because his attorney smeared her.
ETA - And her friend wouldn't have called the police and her parents without her consent.

She flat out lied. She knew what happened, but faked intoxication or being drugged or being hit on the head to craft a BS story of rape.
The physical evidence makes any version of her sorry and her strange lapses in memory completely unbelievable.
Furthermore, if it is true that she want cooperating and hadn't decided whether to pursue charges, then TPD likely didn't do anything wrong either.

It's much easier to win in the civil court. See OJ trial.
She paid.

Family Statement from November
I don't know, reading the family's statement it will be interesting to see if they go after the Tallahassee PD and raise questions about interference run on behalf of a football team.
If I was her parents, I'd go all out too. I mean if you believe your child was raped, as a father you're going to figure out a way to kill that guy and anyone that stands in your way. Or if you want to keep it legal, destroy the person and everyone who stood in the way.

Here's a couple of pro tips for the young bucks out there.
1) Sex has consequences. A lot of people will tell you otherwise. Ignore those people and don't make them part of your inner circle of friends. They'll demonstrate a lot of bad judgment in a lot of other circumstances, too.
2) If you treat a woman like garbage (say - walk in in the middle of sex trying to get in on the action or just for fun, or videotape the sex without her consent, or any other number of "hilarious" things), the likelihood that there will be blowback from such a situation is greater than in a relationship where you show compassion and consideration for a girl.
So, while it's not true that Jameis deserves a false rape allegation (if that's what this is), his lack of wisdom and judgment certainly played a part in getting him into this predicament. Luckily (or unluckily for his future), he is sure to have people tell him none of this is his fault and he didn't do a thing wrong.

The NSA, and perhaps Ed Snowden, have the info:
"The documents also show one of Winston's friends recorded a portion of the sexual encounter on his cell phone that night, but later deleted it and discarded the phone"

I just got through reading the entire case file and hell yes. I'd do whatever it took to nail TPD, FSU, the DA, etc. to the fricking wall. I've read a lot of police reports, court documents, and affidavits in my life but I have never read a bigger compilation of horse shite so blatantly obvious in its attempts cover itself up, tip off the suspects ahead of time and then rewrite itself as a duplicate of the defense team in my life. And what has shocked the hell out of me after finally going through all of it is that FSU and the AD were formally involved in it.
And jeezuz tap dancing christ - the affidavits from Chris Casher and Ronald Darby were taken on November 13, 2013. According to the report that was the day TPD decided they ought to maybe interview them again.
In true TPD style, they contacted FSUPD to let them know they'd be on campus to interview the players on the 14th. Lo and behold, when the investigators arrived on campus AD Monk Bonasorte met them at the Athletics building and informed TPD that he'd directed FSUPD to direct everything to his office (that's a fricking AD telling campus police what to do and essentially using jurisdictional notices as tip-offs) but that was just a flexing of FSU muscle in case TPD really was serious about investigating what they'd politely decided not to for nearly year before Monk, Jansen's and FSU football's coup de grace. Monk Bonasorte followed that opening move up by stating he believed that Jameis Winston's attorney, Tim Jansen Esq, had secured legal representation for the witnesses. Indeed Jansen had not only gotten these witnesses representation he had that representation write up and notarize two accounts/sworn affidavits dated November 13, 2013 (the very day FSU was informed by TPD they wanted to interview them) and a full day before TPD arrived to make their token interview. That is some institutional balls on FSU's part and a level of hubris that would make Penn State proud.
As to the contents of those affidavits... they're nothing but vintage Tim Jansen; a pile of bullshite stacked so high in the summer heat even a Florida jury would see smell it.
