It kinda loses value when he can't read the field consistently or throw an accurate ball consistently.

Stats aren't everything, but you can't toss them aside either. He has underperformed as a passer in his college career, you can't deny that. He has the tools to be a starting QB, but he might be one of the biggest projects in the first round. And a project at QB is one of the scariest risk you can take.

agreed but I think the rewards could be huge for someone willing to develop him for a year or 2.

I think it will take more than 2 years personally, he's still a Wing T QB trying to play pro style. He has the ability to make the transition to pro style, but it will take a good coach to pull it out of him. He shows flashes of being a good QB, but inconsistently. Sark did what he could, but it's still not enough.

If he ended up at Seattle somehow, it would probably be his best destination. It's allows Locker to stay in a similar offense to continue his growth as a QB. It will be up to Locker to in the work for the rest...

I would take the one whose character is not in question. You choose.

Not only is Newton a much better runner but he's a WAY better passer.

I wouldn't say a WAY better passer. He might be better but not by much.

That would make for a bad draft, everyone has something to hide, Newton has just been dragged through the mud publically.

Looking for superior character will cause you to lose out on better athletes...

which is why you take him and remove him from the media and stick him in a room and ask him the tough questions and you get through all the shite and see what kind of character he has.

I think he'll do ok, people peg him as an idiot, but I think he's smarter than he lets on. He's no Ryan Fitzpatrick, but he's no VY either. His quickthinking and political-esque people skills will have scouts eating out of his hands...

I won't disagree with that. I could see people REALLY warming up to him. Before all this scandal is their anyone who didn't think Cam was a good guy.

Not necessarily.. Cecils chutch has been miraculously saved from the tax sale and state of disrepair it faced about a year ago. I doubt Cecil will demand anything for Cam.

Yeah... you oughta see that church now. It puts imperial palaces to shame.

Yes it would but this is for fun and character assassination of the unwashed is more fun that being logical.

think he is given a bad rap because he hasn't put up elite stats. He has a ton of potential and has proven he can be accurate and fit the ball into tight spaces.

You definitely are not watching Locker very much. He is an average passer at best. His accuracy has improved, slightly. Locker will not be a QB on the next level before it is all said and done. He is too good an athlete to keep on the bench, but will never be anything more than a bench warmer in the NFL at QB.

it's bold statements like this that make people look bad. The guy will be a 1st rounder in all likelihood and will start a game at some point.
