Thanks for ruining the conference though.

Yeah because the 3 time national champion in 5 years has totally ruined the conference.

8 is fine if you have 2 rotators in the other division.

9 is only absolutely necessary with the cross division in tact.

9 with 3 rotators would be best and so it was probably never considered.

This shite is the worst possible outcome.

Like I give a shite about what other fans think. I meant that UA/UT isn't the only reason we still have a permanent opponent. It also lies with AU/UGA and the weaker schools like Vandy and Kentucky and probably Ole Miss and State.

& Florida.....so far, 9 out of 14 wanted to keep them.

Keeping them is stupid, but that ship had clearly sailed.

Why they didn't then try to keep some semblance of conference cohesion with a 9 game schedule and a manageable rotation is unforgivable.

We will play about as many PAC 12 teams as east teams due to this crap. Y'all created two conferences. It's dumb as hell.

"THE PERMANENT NON-DIVISION OPPONENT

The decision to maintain a permanent non-division opponent also presents other advantages:

• Provides each team with a traditional opponent for the final weekend of the season

The permanent non-division opponents are as listed below:

• Alabama (west) vs. Tennessee (east)
• Arkansas (west) vs. Missouri (east)
• Auburn (west) vs. Georgia (east)
• LSU (west) vs. Florida (east)
• Ole Miss (west) vs. Vanderbilt (east)
• Mississippi State (west) vs. Kentucky (east)
• Texas A&M (west) vs. South Carolina (east)"

Are they now changing this to the final game? There goes the Iron Bowl, Good Old Fashion Hate, & others.

14 teams is too many. Should go back to 10.

And round robin. Then we have truly balanced schedules each year. And you get to travel to all the SEC stadiums every few years.

This stupid model gets you going to some of the stadiums once every twelve years. I don't know how this is any good for the fans.

Did a majority of SEC AD's actually vote for that shite?

How on earth can the SEC think that someone from one of the other major conferences would be more attractive than a ninth SEC opponent?

So, LSU is going to travel to Athens only every 12 years? REALLY?

Soooo basically everyone has to schedule like UT and UGA as well as UF with their OOCs. I like it.

if they move it to the final game of the season, look for the "1 week later" rematch of east vs west in the coming years.

ratings yawn.

My guess? They didn't want to schedule another game with a SEC team knowing this conference beats the shite out of each other on the regular.

Meant to mention USC in the first place. As to LSU, I really don't know how y'all have been scheduling but if you've been scheduling tough:

Everyone was doing that already, aside from A&M. This vote was retarded, it changes nothing and only makes the league look weak.

Because moving to a 9 game con-schedule would have ruined the DSOR . Go play in traffic with that thinking.
