With that logic no one would take a job in the SEC to compete with almighty Saban.

Shawn Watson isn't getting the AU job. He won't even get an interview. It is a disinformation name. Searches like this always include a couple of names that aren't real candidates. They are usually names planted by that guy's agent, but sometimes the school puts it out to keep people off the trail.

AU will hire someone with much stronger appeal and name recognition than Shawn Watson. If they don't, it won't be for lack of trying and it will likely signal bigger problems than just poor coaching with this team.

Jimbo may get a look but he's WAY down the list compared to a few others.

Who are the "few other" that are higher on the List? Hell, who all is or will be on the List? I have seen some pretty damn delusional list/names being floated around so if you know something (seems you are claiming you do by your last post) post it!

Fisher isn't "settling". Hiring Fisher is a big deal for AU (if it happens). He can flat out recruit, and he'll bring with him a very solid staff that can recruit every bit is good as the staff AU is about to fire.

I said weeks ago the odds were high it would be Fisher, Strong, or Petrino. I still think it is better than even money it will be one of them, but since Jacobs may survive you never know how he might screw this up.

Hell yea man, i'm all for that. He dominated Us but i just feel that he never had to face a full strength Bama squad. I'd love him to come get some now. I have no animus for Arkansas people but i'm really gonna wanna see him look at the ground a lot.

I am hearing all three, fisher as the HC, Petrino as the oc and strong as the dc.

Only the Chizik part is correct. The rest of this is actually an effort to make the president look like a total buffoon by the few controlling factors with Marshall as their mouthpiece. And when it comes to football, this is also correct. Classic Auburn.

Which I don't even get.

It's not like the buyout drops by millions of dollars on 12/1 - it drops, what? Like $200,000?

That's a drop in the bucket to the AU AD.

If I were an AU fan - God forbid - I would want Chizik fired sooner rather than later. Especially because Arky and UK are already able to start their searches above board.

My AU brother in law is apoplectic today.

If I were a really good coach in high demand, I'd wait until I could see what other jobs opened before committing to one of the second tier schools.
